Sales and Marketing Representative (Former Employee) –  Athens, GANovember 10, 2016
Working at TTI was very rewarding and educational. It is a great job for someone right out of college who is self-motivated and willing to work hard to get where he or she wants to be in a their career. It definitely makes you earn your keep, but the company benefits and corporate experience are well worth it.
Pros
Company Truck
Cons
Lots of travel

Field Service Manager (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZOctober 19, 2016
Arrive at store. Set up a sales table and give as many associates as i could, a product knowledge update. Walk store to ensure product was merchandised correctly and that price labels were correct. This job is very self-motivated but also driven from a corporate stand point very far away.

General Manager - Oreck (Former Employee) –  Cleveland, OHSeptember 10, 2016
Very positive team with strong brands & NPD but lack of corporate long term focus vs major competitors. Oreck was acquired by TTI just before I was hired and I was recruited tied to prior strengths at old Black & Decker

This is a marketing company that gives its representatives the opportunity to manage their own stores on a daily basis.
Field Sales and Marketing Representative (Current Employee) –  West Long Branch, NJMarch 22, 2016
Techtronic industries is a marketing firm that promotes marketing and sales of Milwaukee, Ryobi, and Ridgid power tools. The position I hold is Sales and Marketing representative in the field. On a daily basis I am asked to manage six stores in the Central and Southern New Jersey area. I visit one store every day and maintain the marketability of our products in these stores. I work with the associates around the store to help develop plans of how our product will be able to sell better in stores. Since I have started our sales numbers in each store have risen and the buzz of our products have grown louder.

Productive and energetic workplace; able to travel
Event Marketing Specialist (Former Employee) –  Anderson, SCJanuary 30, 2016
Travel to one of your hosted locations and demonstrate power tools to interested consumers. You learn a lot of leadership, independence, management, and communication skills. Management is well-trained and is available to staff. Co-workers are only a phone call away due to different hosted territories.

Great Work Environment
Technical Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Anderson, SCDecember 18, 2015
Techtronic Industries is great place to work. People are always friendly. You get the sense that you are part of a large team in which everyone is doing their part to make the company successful. The design and layout of the internal structure of the building is simple but very likable. I say this because if you are going to work their, you might want to like the environment. As a technical support representative, the hardest part of the day is dealing with customers that are upset. I talk with customers day in and day out and what can you expect. Overall, the management of the department is always on point.
Pros
Good pay, good benefits
Cons
Vacation days are scare

Project Engineering Intern (Former Employee) –  Anderson, SCNovember 10, 2015
It was a wonderful place to work at, the engineers and technicians were all really fun people. Some of the management tended to be some of the no-fun types. Not too crazy about the location (Anderson South Carolina) either.

Great products, sales position
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaAugust 15, 2015
As a sales representative the position is a dead end job. Promotions are limited to people hired from Universities and placed in the Leadership Development Program. Tenure outside of that criteria holds no value and your career advancement is dead in the water. Bonus structures are unrealistic and few people in the nation meet their quarterly sales goals.
Pros
Work truck provided
Cons
Dead end job, expected to work overtime with no pay, unrealistic bonus structure

Great job, bad management
Field Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Albany, NYJuly 9, 2015
typical day starts at 8, you do a walk of the entire store, looking for opportunities to expand the brand placement of your products. You spend the day downstocking product, dusting, shining, and cleaning. you sell products to customers with no commission. In addition, you follow corporate directives to place new or exciting products in run on the shelf or in a prominent location. You are required to sign off on reports for every part of the store you touched, which need to be touched a minimum of 2 times a month, and just this can take anywhere from 3-5 hours a day, depending on the state of disrepair.

The job sends about 20-30 cubic foot of product/marketing materials to your home, making your residence a mini warehouse, from which you are required to keep it in order so you can bring it to the various stores as needed. You are paid for only 40 hours per week, but in many instances, stores place roadblocks in your way which are out of your control, that will force you to work off the clock. Many store associates see a TTI rep as a perfect time to disappear and slack off.

Great pay, free gas for the company provided truck, great benefits.
Impossible to get promoted when you have 3 bosses in the course of 15 months, each with their own idea of how the stores need to look- despite corporate directives for them to look a very specific way.

Hardest part of the job is the tiny timeframes they give to complete huge overhauls of large portions of the stores.
Best part of the job is making customers day with new products to help them fionish their work at home.
You work
more... alone 99% of the time. So not really any coworkers.
It really didnt teach me anything that I previously was unaware of. since I worked for the home depot for 6 years prior.

Hard Work = Advancement
Power Tools (Current Employee) –  Anderson, SCJune 2, 2015
TTI is a company that focuses on it's leadership development program(LDP). If you're in this program, are willing to work hard and adapt the sky is the limit. Well the limit is the pay in most instances.

Once you've shown your worth you can receive unparalleled exposure, experience and responsibility over national brands. This the major reason why employees accept sub-par pay.

Some departments have a horrible work-life balance where much is required out of employees like working weekends and much overtime (without compensation). The young people at the Anderson office make the culture fun.

Opportunities for growth are there. Promote based on Merit. A lot of responsibility very quickly. Sometimes leadership/management is non-beneficial/non-existent.

Stable company to work for. They do not promote people in certain departments but favor the marketing department. Late night phone calls with China that eat into your evening.
