National Director, Human Resources, Rosemont, IL - November 20, 2017
Tecta has grown organically and through acquisition. Its business model is such that it buy successful smaller roofing companies and allows them to continue to operate with significant autonomy as a Tecta business unit, supporting them with finance, IT and HR policies, practice and procedures. The business units (called operating units) each have a president who has a lot of leeway in making decisions for the unit with regard to operations, including hiring and firing employees and developing the culture. What results is multiple cultures across the nation, which has its positive and negative aspects. All in all, Tecta is supportive and helps their employees when in need. When Hurricane Harvey hit our Houston operations Tecta was quick to send assistance in the form of money and people to those whose homes and lives were seriously affected. Always looking for quality people, Tecta looks to hire, train and help people move up within the company. Safety is its number one priority.
