No ethics / no values / no organization / no respect
Employee (Former Employee), Newport News, VAJuly 6, 2013
Pros: entertaining
Cons: chaos
Not a place of work I would recommend. I'm very thankfull I no longer work for these people and that they made my decision to leave easy.

Truly a bottom tier place to work. The treatment of the employees prompts anyone who can leave to do just that. The remainder are those who unfortunately don't have as many alternatives.

Great company to work for
Operations (Former Employee), Newport NewsJune 17, 2013
Pros: exciting atmosphere
Cons: employee gossip - fortunately, those employees are no longer with the company
I was an employee at Tempus Jets and sincerely enjoyed the atmosphere. It was unfortunate that there was a lot of gossip spread about the company, specifically the owners. I heard the rumors that have been mentioned in comments below directly and decided to look into them for myself and found them all to be 100% FALSE. Don't believe everything you read. – more... This was a really fun company to work for and I hope, if I have the chance to relocate, that I can be part of this team again. – less

Tempus is the bottom of the barrell
operations (Former Employee), variousJune 12, 2013
Pros: pay and benefits
Cons: the owner
One of the owners is not only pyschotic but is a skirt chaser. He yells at everyone and he has no repect for anyone except the young women he hires. There was no job security there because if you make him mad, he fires you. Stay away from that place

June 17, 2013

It's sad to see people start these rumors. I have been with the company for a long time, I am definitely not a "skirt" and have never been "yelled" at. Actually, the exact opposite. I have watched both of the owner's do everything they can for their employees (100% benefits, personal life accomodations, etc.), often times at their own expense.

Exciting work environment with GREAT opportunities
Accounting (Current Employee), Newport News, VAMarch 29, 2013
Pros: great team/ benefits/ opportunities
Tempus Jets is a very exciting place to work. Management shows interest in each employee and offers exciting opportunities based on each individual's personal strengths. The CEO has a heart for the world and pursues opportunities to use the company he has built to help around the globe. The environment is fast paced and rewarding.
Management is flexible – more... with your schedule and shows interest in a work/ personal life balance. – less

If anyone has every worked there you would know it is not a place for GREAT opportunities. You have to be a HOT sexy girl to get the GREAT opportunities. If you work hard and support the company, you get nothing. Just like the state farm commercial, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet. Don't let the big airplanes fool you.

Unprofessional, Unorganized and Poorly Managed
Accountant (Former Employee), Newport NewsJanuary 3, 2013
Cons: too many to mention
The review summary says it all. This is an unorganized sham of a company. The CEO is incapable of running a company and the upper management are collecting a paycheck for doing nothing. I can't imagine that, even though they are relocating to South Carolina, the company will be in business for another year.

Cutting Edge, Exciting, Rewarding, Growing
Marketing (Current Employee), South CarolinaDecember 17, 2012
Tempus Jets is an elite "all things aviation" international company.
The new ideas, new technology, passion for philanthropy, and dedication to exceptional customer service. One of the very few companies that offer 100% medical benefits, life insurance, and disability. Wonderful company to grow a fruitful career in aviation, sales, marketing, and technology.
This – more... company has high expectations for its employees and that reflects on the company themselves. Tempus Jets is very self -aware and knows that they are only as good as the people they have working for them. – less

A bad experience. Leadership constantly bickers and changes approach to accounting. A very stressful and thankless environment.

Horrible Atmosphere
Operations (Former Employee), VAAugust 31, 2012
Pros: they paid above market value
Cons: chaotic and disorganized workplace
This organization is poison. It is best described as "Chaos" creating an incredibly bad working atmosphere. Workers are overstressed, stabbed in the back and thrown away....unless you are someone's child or old friend. Many good folks have come through and were spit out in the regular unprofessional way this firm carries itself. These issues are from – more... the top down. Ethics and decency are not words any current or ex employee would use to describe the leadership team. – less

Poorly Managed
Operations (Current Employee), Newport News, VAJuly 25, 2012
Pros: decent benefits
Cons: incompetent management
The company grew too quickly and the CEO of the company has absolutely no idea what is he is doing.. Unfortunately, the people working under of him have even less of an idea. He hires friends and children of upper management and well connected Newport News City Council members. There is no job security and rumour has it that they are getting ready to – more... close up and move what's left of the company to Greenville, SC. The so called VP of Government Contracts is unprofessional and a habitual liar. Can't say anything positive about this place except that it is paying my bills until I can find a real job. – less

Not good
Operations Coordinator (Former Employee), Newport News, VAJune 1, 2012
Pros: benefits
Cons: company culture
100% benefits and 401k matching is nice. Advertising shows the company doing humanitarian work, but helping others doesn't seem like a priority. Job security and advancement is dismal, based on contracts and who you know. Supervisory and management is horrible, management from the top-down are all micro managers. Having new hires "figure it out" seems – more... like a company wide culture. Most people at the company have work e-mail on their phones, so they don't disconnect. – less
