Material Control Specialist (Current Employee) –  Houston, TXJuly 9, 2017
it's good place to learn and improve your skills as employee, but too much work. The management will support you, but the issue they can do only so much for the employee, cause the decision has to come from higher level and many approvals.
Pros
Free Lunch
Cons
Breaks and health care is good

Bad management and work culture. Long hours and hard is work is not appreicated, it's expected.
Global Trainee (Current Employee) –  Bay City, TXJune 24, 2017
Tenaris is an Argentine company and has not transitioned into the American way of working.
You must be able to speak Spanish fluently to be able to move up anywhere in the company.
Hard work and long hours (10+ hrs) is often expected out of the employees.
The bureaucracy of how the company works often makes it very hard for you to get your job done and only adds to the stress that you face in your day to day job.
Pros
Good health and 401k benefits
Cons
Long hours, poor management, terrible work life balance

CNC maintenance technician (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMay 13, 2017
This plant had a lot of break downs, old machines. I use to be busy over there, and learned many things also.
The only problem there, no A/C, which reflects straight on the machines performance.

Project Manager (Current Employee) –  Bay City, TXMay 11, 2017
If you do not speak Spanish you will not be promoted. If you are an American you are not treated well. Often when given a chance to provide feedback you are shut down and told to go along even if you know what is being done is wrong and will cost the company money. People are often afraid to speak up or disagree with their boss.

Overall a great place to work. Mostly all fair people at the job. There could be some improvements but what job doesn't have that problem. The hardest part of the job is the heat.

If you are male and in particular, a Latin male, you have it made.
Tenaris hires groups of recent college graduates, called Global Trainees. The majority are male because the culture at Tenaris is very male-oriented. Once these Global Trainees graduate from their program, many are placed in positions in which they are completely unqualified and many soon become managers. Screaming and yelling is common-place. If you can deal with all this, the benefits are usually fairly good.

Engineering Global Trainee (Former Employee) –  HoustonMarch 20, 2017
They have a great corporate training program. They lack upward mobility mostly promote argentine or mexican nationals (expats). Maybe that has changed but like any oil and gas service company, they are subject to market volatility.
Pros
Good pay, training global trainee program, Benefits
Cons
Lack of work life balance and upward mobility.

Mechanical Maintenance (Former Employee) –  Blytheville, ARMarch 6, 2017
It's a steel plant so of course the heat was intense, but any time you got too hot you could step in to the break room and grab a bottle of water to cool down.
