About Tennessee Valley Authority
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) operates public power system and supplies power in most of Tennessee, northern Alabama, northeastern Mississippi, and southwestern Kentucky and in portions of northern Georgia, western North Carolina, and southwestern Virginia. TVA manages the Tennessee River and its tributaries to provide year-round navigation, flood – more... damage reduction and electricity. TVA also manages the river system to provide recreational opportunities and water supply. TVA is primarily a wholesaler of power. TVA sells power at wholesale to distributor customers, consisting of municipalities and cooperatives that resell the power to their customers at a retail rate.
