This was a temporary job for me while I was in college and I learned many things to help my career in insurance. My manager was very helpful and I would work here again at anytime.

Life Insurance Sales Disquised as Being a General Lines Agent
Insurance Agent (Former Employee) –  Sherman, TXOctober 16, 2017
You have to sell lots of life insurance or things won't work out. The only complaint I have is that the commission on life products is well below industry standard. Hard to dedicate the time to sell life insurance when other lines of insurance are what pay your bills.
Pros
You are managed to expectations, not micro-managed.
Cons
Treated like an employee, yet you are an independant contracter.

Great place to have a career
PC Technician Intern (Current Employee) –  Waco, TXOctober 15, 2017
The Farm Bureau is a great place to have a career. If you have the opportunity to get a position here, take the chance. I'm leaving because the only open positions are positions that I'm not experienced in.

Plenty of Freedom but alot of work to keep you busy
Claims Adjuster (Current Employee) –  TexasOctober 2, 2017
Job is stressful but rewarding. Time flies by because of the amount of work. Plenty of freedom and a lot of benefits. Must be self motivated and be ok with sitting behind a desk 90% of the time.

TXFB is an excellent company to work for. The leadership spends a lot of time focusing on the employees. They want the employees to succeed in every aspect of their lives. I enjoy the flexibility to do my job, in my own set hours, and with the earned authority to make decisions. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the aftermath of an insured when the loss of life is involved. Restoring our customers lives in the best part of the job.

ISR/secretary (Current Employee) –  Llano, TXAugust 2, 2016
This is a great company with great ethics. Very goal oriented. We always look out for the customers best interest. We are a small office of very hard working individuals, the office is more of a family than work group. The agency manager is a very good man to work for and always looks out for his employees and treats everyone with the upmost respect.

Great family-centered workplace culture
Senior Programmer (Current Employee) –  Waco, TXMay 5, 2015
The culture in the company is great. Most people are very helpful and the atmosphere is more of a familial one.

The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to resolve problems for customers and agents.

People tend to stay for a while, and many retirees have been with the company for 30 or more years. The company provides excellent health care benefits, including an inhouse clinic and gym.

The only downside is that the pay is not up to current market rates, and there is limited opportunity for quick advancement since there are many people with lots of seniority.
