Toxic work environment
Professor (Former Employee) –  El Paso, TXJanuary 3, 2018
Decent pay for faculty. Toxic work environment, rumor mill, terrible leadership. Faculty turnover exceeds 30% per year. If you do well, the insecure leadership will get rid of you.

Correctional Nurse (Current Employee) –  Amarillo, TXOctober 29, 2017
This has been a nightmare. The staff can be worse than the patient population in corrections. The management/leadership will leave you in the most horrible situation with little to no knowledge how to protect yourself.
Cons
Poor management

Faculty Associate, Director Core Imaging Facility (Former Employee) –  Lubbock, TXJuly 8, 2016
TTU is an excellent company to work for. A typical day at work is very stimulating and rewarding. One has a great degree of autonomy and flexibility. I learned many valuable techniques in microscopy and stereology. The management was excellent!! Extremely supportive and appreciative. My co-workers were great, very pleasant and productive. The hardest part of the job was getting funding and getting data which required much patience and attention to detail, troubleshooting, and learning curves with new equipment. The most enjoyable part was the appreciative and supportive atmosphere, going to workshops, helping others with their research.
Pros
flexible hours, stimulating environment, excellent benefits
Cons
sometimes very little time for breaks, too many meetings, equipment becoming obsolete
