Server (Former Employee), Memphis, TN –
Pros: i worked in an exciting part of town
Cons: the night life wore my patience thin
A typical day can be said about everyday. Steady business and interesting customers from the hotel. Poor income from the tips and late nights at work. Management was fair and followed efficient protocol procedures.

Fast paced and busy place.
Server (Current Employee), Grand Rapids, MI –
A typical day at work included serving tables and making sure the customer was happy with the brand Friday's represents. This was all with making sure I was keeping my team members happy by doing additional side work (usually cleaning duties) assigned to me. I learned many different parts to customer service and how to take care of the customer in almost – more...  every situation. The most valuable lesson I am taking away from Friday's is knowing how time management. – less

Manager (Former Employee), IL –
Pros: a paycheck
Cons: corporation - 2 many chiefs- not enough indians
This company would like to clone robots to filter their everchanging, inconsistent messaging and goals. If you are a free thinker who identifies with your guests....this is not the company for you. If you ever decide to begin a career in restaurant management- do NOT begin here. This company will teach you the WRONG style to manage your staff & guests.

fun work place. very productive.
Designer (Current Employee), Allentown, PA –
Pros: 50 percent off food, dental insurance
Cons: dental insurance isn't that good
Let me be completely honest. A typical day at TGI Fridays in Allentown used to be fun and exciting to work for. the company was sold to a larger corporation that would talk down to its employees. Management changed because of all the stress this new company brought. Being the longest employee that lasted with the change over, decided that it was time – more...  to move on and find my career path. I've learned a lot from my management on how to run things. They made me a shift leader that oversees the other employees. The most enjoyable part was being recognized when it came time to help out – less

Fun, exciting, fulfilling job.
Server (Former Employee), Watertown, NY –
Pros: discounts
Cons: rude customers
The job itself is great. It's a great place to work with great people. The only thing that i would say is a down fall is that at first management was not on the same page but they have definitely got it together now.

Busser/Server (Former Employee), Destin, FL –
I'm sure the day to day at any given TGI Fridays is relatively similar. I'm not the biggest fan of the Destin GM.

Great place to work, and to play! Fun environment w/ talented staff!
Cocktail Server/Food Server (Current Employee), Enfield, CT –
This is an ideal teamwork environment. I love everything about working here. I just wish that I had more hours, and that the business were more high paced. It's just very slow, and the tips aren't always there. I will never leave completely. I love it some much I plan to keep it as a part-time, once I find something full-time. Everyone is is great; – more...  all the staff, including mgmt, and the clientele is always enjoyable. I look forward to going to work, and that feels good. – less

Fun atmosphere
General Manager (Former Employee), Rockville Centre, NY –
Pros: team members (servers, bartenders), product innovation
Cons: inconsistent management and leadership, employee recognition
Overall, working for TGI Friday's was a positive experience. Food safety, product innovation and atmosphere make TGI Friday's a desirable place for guests and employees. The compensation package is better than that of its competitors but this is still the restaurant business so quality of life is sub-par. It is not uncommon to get home 2-3 hours after – more...  closing. Team Members have always been the driving force behind TGIF and I still think that is true. There are many good members of the individual units management teams as well, just no much depth. – less
