About The AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts
Founded in 1988, AIDS Housing of Washington (AHW) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Seattle, Washington. AHW's mission is to increase and sustain housing and related services, both locally and nationally, for people who are living with HIV/AIDS or experiencing homelessness. Bailey-Boushay House (1992), the nation's first newly constructed skilled nursing facility and day health program for people living with HIV/AIDS. Operated by Virginia Mason Medical Center. The Lyon Building (1997), an historic downtown Seattle office building which was renovated to create 64 units of permanent, service-enriched housing for single adults disabled with HIV/AIDS who have histories of mental illness, substance abuse, and homelessness. Operated by Downtown Emergency Service Center. Shirley Bridge Bungalows (2002), a 6-unit permament housing project for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. Operated by the Seattle Housing Authority. Scattered-site units in Seattle/King County (1998), 16 apartments and condominiums throughout King County for low-income individuals and families with HIV/AIDS, developed in partnership with the King County Housing Authority and the Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Judkins Park Apartments (2004), a 16-unit project serving families, some of whom are living with HIV/AIDS. Operated by Housing Resources Group. Genesee Housing (2006), a 50-unit housing project with 22 units reserved for people living with disabilities, including HIV/AIDS. Operated by Housing Resources Group.
