Summary:

The Annual Fund Manager is responsible for annual contributed revenue goals for individual gifts through direct mail, major gifts, telefundraising and subscription gifts. This includes the identification, cultivation and solicitation of new donors and the stewardship of existing donors. The Annual Fund Manager shares responsibility for overall departmental goal achievement and is an integral member of the fundraising team. The Annual Fund Manager also serves as the primary Tessitura database staff person, responsible for maintaining accurate information and creating various analytic reports from the database.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and manage the Annual Fund for non-board, board, and individuals
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit donors, both new and current, for the Annual Fund through direct mail, email and personal solicitations
  • Coordinate with the Development team to ensure My Opera donor benefit fulfillment
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of all donor cultivation and stewardship events
  • Manage all aspects of gift processing and entry in Tessitura in accordance with company requirements
  • Assist in managing the donor benefit structure, the creation of annual brochures and written appeals, the organization of lead segments for both direct mail and telefundraising, and a committed effort to renew previous major gifts and cultivate new gifts from individuals
  • Manage Final Dress Rehearsal invitations for each production
  • Manage the planning and distribution of tickets and material for all pre-opera dinners, intermezzos and other production related benefits in coordination with the Special Events Manager
  • Financially accountable for maintaining Annual Campaign expenses according to budget
  • Maintain Development Department weekly income reports
  • Work closely with Finance Department to reconcile income reports and audit information
  • Assist the Director of Development to organize and supervise the annual telefundraising campaign and direct mail solicitations in accordance with the department annual plan
  • Provide website content regarding on-line appeals and donors lists to Marketing and Communications department
  • Maintain donor communication efforts through phone, individual meetings, email and correspondence
  • Coordinate development copy for newsletters, email, playbills, season program and other marketing materials
  • Assist the Director of Development with cash flow forecasting and budgets
  • Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of Tessitura experience a must
  • At least three years of direct fundraising experience with demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding organizational goals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; polished presentation skills a plus
  • Strong analytical ability / proven ability to manipulate donor records
  • Professional demeanor and personal appearance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work collaboratively within fundraising team and with other departments
  • Knowledge of/strong interest in opera, classical music and/or performing arts preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
