Senior Credit Analyst III (Current Employee) – Chanhassen, MN – January 16, 2015
Extremely well run, privately held, (until recently) company that put ethics and the welfare of their employees, at least as high as those of the customer. Conservatively administered, the company was financially sound and stable, offering great product, customer service and a fantastic place to work. Only sorry that it couldn't last.
When I started, I was promised training on all of the equipment, and possible advancement to the engineering side. None of that happened. Sales people did not follow rules when requesting samples, causing them to get lost and go bad. They also promised samples to customers same day without consulting with lab employees. Management was not proactive in solving problems. They usually waited for them to become disasters. I tried to solve them without bothering management, but the employees did not respect me enough to listen or follow the rules.
free food, excellent benefits, and flexible schedule
lax management, deceitful sales department, and immaturity
Manager (Former Employee) – Chanhassen,MN – August 21, 2012
50 year old company with aging CEO who doesn't know when to quit. Without apparent successor among his children, he hangs on to reins. Few managers survive after age 55. Several divisions should be sold off since they are a drag on earnings and have not been profitable for years. Many good people have left because they didn't fit the mold dictated by the owner. Rumor circulating that executive has been brought in to streamline company and prepare to have it sold.
A good place to work because of the people. I developed a strong sense of team work and accomplishment by interacting with fellow employees. Working in a hazardoous environment with some times inferior equipment presented a real challenge. I loved the challenges of helping develop new products.
