Tax Accountant (Current Employee) –  Buffalo, NYMay 1, 2017
Tax Accountant.

Prepared returns for all different managers/principals/partners.

Most difficult part of the job was maintaining jobs under budget on the projects/client work. Some jobs would take 10 hrs to do and if you went over it by even a half hour, the manager on job would be upset even if there was more information in the current year of the business.
Pros
Lunch provided saturdays
Cons
Culture, Management Changes

Temporary Benefits Administrator (Current Employee) –  Pittsford, NYJune 23, 2015
I was hired as a temp. everyone was always extremely helpful! I learned how to secure WC insurance for entities out of state, and how to navigate benefits software called bswift. This was a 15 week assignment, and it was a very positive experience!
Pros
Free coffee, free soda, close to nice restaurants for lunch, and most importantly, I met and worked with some fantastic people.

Great people
Manager, CPA (Current Employee) –  Pittsford, NYJune 3, 2015
This is a good company to work for if you see yourself in public accounting for the long haul. The people are great. As with any public accounting job though, the hours can be long, travel can become tiresome, and you always have a never-ending list of things to do.
Pros
Good technology provided, half day Fridays in the summer, good health insurance
Cons
Busy season never ends, never caught up with your work, long hours in the winter

Professional accounting firm with room to improve
Staff Auditor- Assistant (Former Employee) –  Syracuse, NYJune 19, 2012
As with most accounting firms, work during busy season can be quite hectic and you expectations for work hours fluctuate with each job. COmmunication between partners is very weak and expectations and goals from each partner vary greatly. It can be difficult to mediate between jobs. The lower level staff are very helpful and enjoyable to work with.
Pros
compensation, health package
Cons
long hours, no overtime
