To support our foundation, grow awareness, build momentum, and foster strategic connections and partnerships, we are looking for a part-time community manager-_meets_-content developer-_meets_-copywriter. Ideally, this person would be a Veteran, having an insider’s perspective and ability to establish –or already have access to– the Veteran community/networks. But this is not a requirement.

Specific Requirements

  • Collaborate with designers
  • Understanding and experience in developing a community and network of

influencers for potential message amplification, and on-going engagement

  • Relevant copywriting, content development, and content curation that is

strategically aligns to our audience and our website plus our Facebook page, Twitter
account and going forward YouTube channel

  • Use and comfort with the various publishing systems and tools: website CMS,

Facebook, Twitter, URL shortening, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram,
MSWord, and Adobe Photoshop

  • Basic understanding of CSS
  • Wall posts (post & respond)

Several Touch-points in our Digital Ecosystem

  • Website CMS
  • Facebook page/presence and Twitter account
  • A blog and subscription/syndication facilities (e.g. FeedBurner, FeedBlitz, etc.)
  • And in the future, a YouTube channel

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant copywriting and content development chops
  • Military subject matter expertise on current affairs particularly from the perspective of a Veteran or their family
  • Experience in developing editorial and content calendars
  • Relevant social media/social networking and community engagement and management experience
  • Agency or publisher experience preferred
  • Highly detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Veteran preferred, but will consider all applicants
  • Professional references
  • Available portfolio or examples of published work (e.g, website, blog, articles)

Proposed Engagement

  • Part Time: probably extra time at the start while the website is being developed then scaled back once the site is up and fully functional
  • Estimate: 10-20 hours a week
  • Rate negotiable; commensurate with experience
