Caseload placed upon the worker was unrealistic and unmanageable.
For example, 18-24 cases/families involving visits of children and parents in separate locations on a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly basis. With an average of two children per case with two parents, and assuming the children were placed together, that equates to 36-48 children to visit with the same number of parents per month; assuming that's only one visit per month which occurs only after the adjudication of the children and only if there are no safety concerns.
These cases also involved detailed court documents to be completed in between being required to transport children/parents to doctor's appointments, visits, and case plan evaluations with the limit of available transporter's in the building, as there are only two transporter's for four units, each containing at least 5 workers with the same high case load number.
Also, during vacation hours it is expected of you to still conduct visits and complete court paperwork eliminating any needed downtime. This job is not for an individual with a family.
