Challenging company with too many tools and unrealistic goals
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CA –
Pros: fashion line has improved
Cons: no life and work balance
Company expectations are unrealistic. It's too much information being delivered that the company structure is falling short. Management lacks moral support, their team playing roles are inconsistent.

Productive and fun workplace where every customer feels right at home when they shop.
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Baton Rouge, LA –
Pros: schedule flexibility, contest incenitives
Cons: minimal pay
A typical day at work includes greeting and assisting customers, operating the cash register, straightening and cleaning the store, unloading and processing new shipment. I have learned a great deal of interpersonal skills and how to develop good repoir with customer and coworkers. My coworkers are hardworking and passionate about what they do. The – more...  hardest part of the job is making sure few to no mistakes are made when operating the cash register. The most enjoyable part of the job is interacting with the customers and participating in competitive contest that make the job fun and exciting. – less

Been treated better
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Johnson Creek, WI –
Pros: great clothing, great discount.
Cons: poor management.
The district manager did not treat others well, this was reflected through the management as well. I was here on an as needed basis and woked once every 3 months, but I was expected to know when special events would come up. I saw A LOT of people come and go during my time here. There was a major lack of organization and communication.

Productive, fast pace, great experience!
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Hayward, CA –
Pros: working at other stores in the company, rewards
Cons: not being provided with enough hours
Typical day would be counting out registers before opening, making sure the whole store is clean, getting merchandise from stock room to process between cashiering and helping customers. I learned how to work in a fast pace and demanding environment while providing great customer service. Management was great with helping me and educating me on the – more...  dos and donts and making sure I was always working hard! Co-workers were awesome! At the time mostly out of high school like me so we all took the job seriously to prepare us for the work world. Hardest part of the job was completing the new monthly "floor sets" for the entire store. Most enjoyable would be the satisfaction of seeing all my hard work completed! – less

Great staff who make work enjoyable
Seasonal Sales Associate (Former Employee), Las Vegas, NV –
Pros: staff was great and pleasant to work with, had great potlucks
Cons: not enough hours, when you did work you only got a max of 4 hours, overly staffed
I felt like it was an enjoyable place to work at whenever I got to actually be on the schedule. I understand it was seasonal work, but I feel they did some over-hiring for seasonal. They hired 15+ people just for seasonal work at a small store on top of their regular staff. They were forced to cut back a lot of hours to where only 2 people can work – more...  per day. Overall, it was hard to get hours and that was frustrating to the staff. – less

Children's Apparel Sales Associate (Former Employee), Macon, GA –
This was my first job. The enviroment was nice and the coworkers. Learned a lot about retail that I didn't know before. Enjoyed customer service on each of my jobs. Learned a lot about how to deal more with people. There was no place of advancement and no good career path.

The current store manager (2012) is highly unorganized and does not show leadership qualities. It is a challenging place to work because of this.

The Children Place has a great training programs and classes that provides employees to learn how to expand through out the company
Co-Manager (Former Employee), Downey, CA –
Working with many different management in a short period of time was very frustrating. Due to every manager was trained different ways instead of one right way. I could say, once they had DMs and management in the right areas, the company had great training programs.

Lending an helping hand!
Cashier/Sales Representative (Former Employee), Charlotte, NC –
My typical day at work would be to assist customers with their clothing and shoewear. What I learn is to keep on providing great customer service. Management helps with any problems or issues the employees may have. The co-workers work well together to get the job done. The hardest part of the job is being on your feet all day. The most enjoyable part – more...  of the job is helping indiviuals find exactly what they want. – less

Productive and fun work place
Cashier / Sales/ Stock (Current Employee), Paramus, NJ –
Pros: meet different people each day.
Cons: slow with promoting associates.
A normal day at work includes alot of customer assistance and comunication with manager, associates and customers. I work with a great team both manager and associates. Everyday we learn about a new sale promotion or a upcoming promotion. We are also inform about company changes. One of the hardest duty of the job is to get customers to open credit – more...  card when the promotional discounts are higher than the credit card discount. – less
