Pros: great interaction with customers
Cons: horrible pay
You do all this work for so little pay ... I was there for over a year and was still receiving minimum wage and I put so much into the company. I had 2 managers within the time I was working. Most enjoyable part is working with childrens and picking out cute outfits

fun place to interact with kids and parents.
Lead sales associate (Former Employee), Coventry, CTApril 17, 2014
working at the Children's Place, i gained a lot of experience. I had many responsibilities that included delegation, costumer service, store remodels and store openings as well as maintenance. a typical day at work included cleaning up the store, getting it ready to open and appeal to costumers. Being a lead sales associate, costumer service and fast – more... pace work is very imperative. I had to make sure all the items were filled and try add- ons to make more sales in order to meet the daily goals. at the end of the day and beginning i had to go to the bank and deposit whatever our company made and make sure our drawers had change and the right amount of money. I enjoyed working with all associates, they were very helpful and made the days fun and interesting. I would not say there was a hard part working at The Children's Place. of course costumers could occasionally become irate but we were always taught to kill them with kindness. the most enjoyable part of my job would be the costumer service. i love working with people and i enjoyed making families happy with the merchandise we sold and the great deals and sales we always had. I also liked helping parents calm their kids down when they were trying to shop. Just s simple sticker or a lollipop would always do the trick. – less

Pros: close to home
Cons: not enought hours
the childrens place was a very fast paced busy place to work especially because of the children running around but it made it that much exciting. working with children is always something new they get you out of your comfort zone and bring out the kid in you which is always refreshing.

Sales associate (Former Employee), Spartanburg, SCOctober 18, 2013
Pros: everything!
Cons: nothing!
Typical day at work is interacting with the kids and great customers. Management was hard working and friendly. The hardest part of the job was leaving when I got pregnant. The most enjoyable part was the friendly upbeat environment.

Productive and fun work place.
Assistant manager (Former Employee), Lafayette, INSeptember 15, 2013
Pros: fun, consistent
Cons: turn over
My time spent at The Children's Place was wonderful. We opened our store everyday, and interacted with our customers and their children. We played dress up with some, and crawled around and played peek-a-boo with others, just to let their parents shop peacefully. I learned a lot from my superiors in management, and even some things from associates who – more... had been there for years. There was not a day that went by that I was no learning! The hardest, and the most enjoyable part of my job was doing floor sets. It was so much fun, despite the hard work! – less

Good place to work
MANAGER (Current Employee), Secaucus, NJAugust 3, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: not having enough staff
TCP is a good place to learn the multiple aspects of retailing. When I started there, it was small half the size and quickly grew to a multi national company. Senior management has a short turnover rate, probably due the company‚Äôs quick growth, which demands extremely sharp entrepreneurial personalities. My co-workers are great and I have solid relationships – more... with all of them. The hardest part of my job is not having enough people on my team, which makes it difficult to manage the scope of my responsibilities. The most enjoyable thing about my job is that I get to exercise my creative freedom. – less

great location to work in
sales cashier associate (Former Employee), New York, NYJune 6, 2013
A typical workday was good with the company. I learned how to build relationships with all different kinds of people based on my customers that shopped daily or weekly. Management was pretty fair considering most emplyees were college students so they worked around everybodys schedule. My co-workers were fun to wrok with. The hardest part of the job – more... trying to control everything in the store at the same time because we was always low on staff and I knew how to do everything so I always on call for my job. I enjoyed working around the children it was like playing dress up for a doll baby because it was a childrens store. – less
