The LDS Church view on Joseph Smith translating the Bible, is that it was inspired of the Lord. That because of world that had lost the power of God, the Priesthood, men had changed the scriptures. But because God loves his children he restored that power again to the earth, thus allowing Joseph Smith to futher the work of Salvation threw being inspired by the Holy Ghost
