It's okay

Good work life balance, and decent pay. Management is under a lot of pressure from corporate, so sometimes that makes a lot of red tape around relatively simple tasks.

Copy Editor (Former Employee) –  Palm Springs, CAMay 6, 2015
Terrific staff and an excellent medium-market daily newspaper. Can't say enough about my experience as a copy editor with this group of newspaper professionals. Great folks putting out a consistently excellent product, maintaining high journalistic standards in a rapidly changing media landscape. Always looked forward to coming into work and continue to wish the staff the best of luck in their efforts to cover news in the valley.
Pros
Great people, facilities
Cons
401K matching wasn't that great

The Desert Sun is an excellent newspaper/website
Community conversations editor (Former Employee) –  Palm Springs, CADecember 17, 2014
I enjoyed working there for six years. I started on the copy desk and soon became community editor, in charge of content editors. Became editorial page editor in 2009 and wrote five editorials a week and a Monday column.
