I was in charge of the trash pick up in the Manhatten area of New York. I drove a garbage truck from 9am-4pm. I liked providing this service to the New York community, the hardest part of this job was the winter months but I never missed a day and I always got the job done

I worked in the city of various places making sure the area was clean and all trash were disposed of. The most enjoyable part of this job was the feeling I got knowing I was able to give back to my community.

Shaking my head
Case Manager (Former Employee), BrooklynApril 22, 2013
Cons: high stress/demand/minimal return
The organization does fine work for the homeless and formerly jailed men they serve. However, upper management seems to think that the universe revolves around them. They harass you as you push to things done although most of them have no familiarity with the programs that allow your work to shine.

Management harps on individual over things that they – more... do all the time. An example of this may entail of a worker coming in 10 minutes late on one occasion while management strolls in 45 minutes late every day and it's fine.

Hypocrisy from top to bottom. Money is allocated to some areas but lined in upper managements pockets, some workers have to be drug tested frequently while corporate/executive management get a free pass. – less
