Cares about employees, but can't always execute on that
Communications Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXOctober 25, 2016
Company tries to care about work/life balance, but they end up making it just one more thing a group of employees has to add to their workload-to sit on a committee to figure out how to achieve it.

Great people, fulfilling work, and good learning atmosphere.
Manufacturing and Engineering Co-op (Former Employee) –  Freeport, TXJuly 21, 2016
Typical days included day to day trouble shooting of daily operations issues. Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental codes to allow operations to continue. Focus on continuous improvement and cost cutting to improve output and quality of products.
Had the opportunity to learn about operations daily tasks: Safe Work Permitting, Proper Isolation and Procedure Generation, Root Cause Analysis, and Confined Space Entries.
Direct management had open ears and was helpful. Co-workers were friendly, every site had a team atmosphere.
The most difficult aspect is learning the Dow work processes. There are a variety of Dow specific tools (code, various XL books, etc.) that sometime increase rather than decrease time spent on a task.
The most enjoyable is putting in new equipment or additions which help increase capacity, omit a safety risk, or help an operator perform their job better.

Lab Analyst (Current Employee) –  Plaquemine, LAFebruary 18, 2017
I work here and I drive from Lafayette la to Plaquemine. I don't have and don't get sleep. You lose time by driving and the traffic is always backed up. Too much politics

Freelance Translator (Current Employee) –  Winston-Salem, NCJanuary 22, 2017
I help with translating documents from Chinese to English, from newsletters to powerpoints. This is a part-time job for me, so some months I may not have anything to translate, and others I'll have a few at once. They don't usually take terribly long to finish, though.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Oyster Creek, TXMarch 24, 2017
They pride themselves on the excellence of "safety first" but the employee is last. They are below industry standards in pay. As people retire they are not replaced. Instead, remaining employees take on the responsibilities.

Senior Technologist (Current Employee) –  Midland, MIFebruary 8, 2016
Great place to work but the town the company is based in is small and has very little to do socially, but other than that the benefits are great, the people are friendly and in my experience as long as you preform management will never bother you.

DMS Document Administrator for Kelly Service's (Current Employee) –  Freeport, TXNovember 3, 2015
Inside the plant libraries, there is always so much to do.
I work with plant documentation... Procedures, checklists, shipping records, equipment records and plant drawings. I interact with the business to make sure that the business is up to global standards.

Hardest part of my job is lifting 50 lb boxes into shelving units inside the library.
Most enjoyable part is working with a group of people who are willing and able to help out.
Pros
Good work environment and company get togethers
Cons
no matching 401k, or sick leave, benefits could be a lot better

Strategic Sourcing Manager (Current Employee) –  Houston, TXJuly 8, 2016
Good people, great culture, learned a lot in my role. Not enough training and opportunity for advancement. Way too many corporate distractions, and the rate of hire when a resource leaves is extremely slow, which means others having to pick additional workload that sometimes may not be re-assigned.
