The Federal Savings Bank was a good work environment with good people and solid management. I enjoyed my time spent working there. They were flexible with the time started and time departed.

TFSB Review
Compliance Review Specialist (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 8, 2017
Overall TFSB is a good job right out of college, however if you don't like remaining static in your career and you desire to learn more and continually improve - it is not the best place to work.
Pros
Smart and competent co-workers
Cons
Little Opportunity for Advancement

Boring and slow not very competitive
Compliance Review Specialist (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 1, 2017
The work day is slow and very repetitive, I strive for more more competition and a much more upbeat work place. The flexibility is very bad. Most enjoyable part would probably be that my coworkers are all within in my age range.

Lot of work
Summer Analyst (Former Employee) –  New York, NYMay 1, 2017
At TFSB, I was worked a lot harder than the structure originally had in store. Hard work wasn't the issue, it was the lack of compensation for 500 cold calls a day that had to be made and the lack of direction from management on how to script calls/ generate interest.

Productive and great place to work
Mortgage Loan Processor (Current Employee) –  Scottsdale, AZApril 17, 2017
The company is small enough that you'll see the CEO walking the floor. Workplace culture is very different depending upon which office you work in. Management is highly skilled in the industry and adjusts quickly to the ever-changing market. Questions are encouraged and everyone is always willing to lend a hand!

TFSB has a nice work environment in addition to great people to work alongside! I appreciated the training and drive to always improve; my thoughts were heard and suggestions were taken seriously.

Great place to work so long as you are a self starter and you don't mind being pushed. It is a sales environment that is production oriented and all parts of the machine is geared towards production.
Pros
Strong leadership with a vision towards growth
Cons
Benefits are very expensive

Senior Mortgage Loan Processor/Team Lead (Current Employee) –  Scottsdale, AZDecember 5, 2016
Able to work remotely, flexible schedules, competitive salary, great benefits. Work culture is pretty laid back and the technology and platforms used make it pretty simple to get loans closed and manage remotley.
Pros
Work culture is great, and the pay is very competitive
Cons
Upper management is not very accessible.

Mortgage Banker (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 7, 2015
Excellent work environment. Day is focused on reaching out to potential lead sources for business leads as well as previous clients. Dealing with current client concerns and problem solving in order to expedite loan closing. The best part of my job is also the hardest part. Helping clients reach their goals regardless of the obstacles they face.

It's a different environment where ever you work
Employee (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILNovember 14, 2014
Depending on where you work at this bank, you may have a great or a terrible experience. Lots of people around the office are heard talking and interacting, while other departments won't even say hello to you when you talk in the door. Work depends on the market/time of year a lot.
Pros
Computer usage is pretty loose
Cons
Your work goes unnoticed unless you mess up

Work environment is amazing, cowokers are very friendly and there is a lot of space to walk around if your get easily tired of sitting. Very clean space. Management mainly cares about there high producers and what is in there best interest to keep them with the company.

Good Experience
Closing Department (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJanuary 7, 2014
9 hour shift with 1 hour lunch break (or less if you prefer), M-F. 40 hour work week expected for my department, sometimes slightly more.
Co-workers in my department were the best part about working here. My managers were also terrific to work with. As busy as things could get, people always made time to answer my questions.
The hardest part of the job were the last few days of the month. Everyone is trying to push as many loans thru as possible and it is not pleasant dealing with seemingly incompetent title companies, while also dealing with angry loan officers (who themselves are dealing with angry clients).
The best part of the job was being done with loan files, knowing you had assured their quality. Also it was nice being thanked by the people who knew how much work you put into spotting and correcting any problems.
Pros
A lot of good people work here and co-workers were always willing to help me out.
Cons
The work is highly repetitive in nature (I guess what work isn't though?).
