Provides skilled and compassionate education to patients, families, other health care providers and the community on the skilled nursing & long-term care benefits and philosophy.

The Admissions Coordinator is a member of the marketing team and is primarily responsible for the timely admission of all residents to the program while holding accountability as the primary coordinator of all aspects associated with the admissions process. Communicate by telephone and coordinate services with referral sources, RN/Case Managers, insurance companies, patients and families. Maintain communication with pending residents, their families, and referral sources and routinely follow the progress of prospective residents and those referrals not taken under care. Effectively use the Company’s information system to coordinate all activities of the admission process from point of referral to completion of paperwork and processing all admission information as required.


  • Completes the admission process in accordance with approved policies and procedures
  • Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, and environmental status
  • Promotes skilled nursing & long-term care philosophy in actions and words in all activities
  • Participates in the Care Team meetings and all staff meetings
  • Knowledgeable regarding Medicare, Medicaid, other payer sources, and their implications for

patient care


  • High school diploma or equivalent and customer service experience required. Nursing home

or medical office experience preferred. LPN/LVN certification or Bachelor’s degree in
business, social work, psychology or nursing or equivalent business experience preferred

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and public relations skills required
  • Ability to maintain business and clinical files in a systematic and orderly fashion
  • Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices
  • Satisfactory criminal background check
  • Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers
  • Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations
  • Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times and be able to abide by HIPAA
