Research/Clinical Coordinator, Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, Department of Psychiatry, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD (www.cstsonline.org): Applicant will work with combat-injured military and veterans and their families on a research study at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) and surrounding communities in the Washington, DC metro area. The Research Coordinator will recruit eligible combat injured families for study, consent participants, and administer standardized instruments at 4 time waves over 2 years. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience working with children and families in clinical settings. Ability to learn and become proficient with manualized interventions for families and children. Ability to administer standardized assessments with a view toward obtaining valid and reliable data. Ability to learn and become proficient with secure data collection organization procedures including the use of technology (encryption, Google Drive). Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Highly Desirable Skills: Familiarity or experience with clinical/social science research and data collection. Familiarity with military/veteran affairs settings and motivational interviewing techniques. Experience with military culture and the challenges faced by military/veteran families. Experience with head trauma and PTSD. Experience using video cameras, web-cams, and GoToMeeting. Licensed Psychologist/Counselor/Social Worker. Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Computer, email, and smartphone skills. Background in social sciences (Psychology, Social Work, Family Science, Counseling, etc).
Minimum Experience: More than 5 years working with children and families.
