We’re looking for a freelance UX Designer to join an entertainment technology giant. They’ve just launched an exciting new cloud-based media platform, and you’ll be driving the user experience for the platform’s apps. Experience designing exceptional apps for a TV interface will get you past the velvet rope on this one.

Nitty Gritty
The new platform is gorgeous. It’s sleek, fast, and intuitive. It’s also a little light on the apps. That’s where you come in.

As UX Designer, you’ll be the central user experience resource for the app development team. You’ll concept and build attractive, intuitive UX solutions for a wide variety of apps. You’re also going to be this company’s UX advocate when working with third party app developers. That means communication and the ability to articulate your vision and direction are critical.

UX research is an important component here. Usability testing and user feedback with inform your designs at every step. You’re also going to be producing wireframes and thorough documentation to support the Product and Tech folks.

In short, you’re going to be a team of one. There’s a lot riding on you here, but we think you’ll rise to the challenge.

You’re an accomplished UX Designer with a diverse portfolio. Web and mobile products are well-represented, but the interactive TV apps are the icing on the cake. XBox Live, Playstation Network, Roku — they’re all there and they look phenomenal. Better yet, they’re functional, intuitive, and sticky.

You might have spent your career as a full-time hire who’s sticking a toe in the freelance waters. Maybe you’re a long-time freelancer who’s seen it all. Wherever you come from, you’re comfortable being a freelance resource attached to an internal team. You can manage your own deliverables and keep others honest on theirs. Vendors? Sure, you’ve managed vendors. You’re the Swiss Army Knife of UX: you can do it all and you can do it on your own.

Inside Skinny
This freelance gig will keep you busy for 40 hours a week. You also need to be able to make it to Philadelphia two days to three days a week.

This gig will get a big name and a big project on your resume fast. It’ll beef up your portfolio with next-gen interactive TV apps. Have you applied already, or do I need to keep going?

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, disability, or any other status protected by applicable law.
