So much potential executed poorly
Tech (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 25, 2017
Honest had so much potential to be a great company. The problem is that they focus way too much on launching a million projects at once and not really focusing on one or two projects that could be carried out smoothly. Management sucks- there are a few that I would say were the stars that you could count on, but otherwise, don't count on anyone having your back here. It's hard to advance within the company if you don't go to enough happy hours and there is a lack of professionalism. Still love the mission of the company and the benefits are great, but they seriously underpay here and expect you to give 1000% of your life through overtime.
Pros
young and positive environment, benefits
Cons
management, lack of growth

Culture & Management
Sr. Manager (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJuly 30, 2017
The culture has shifted from one focused on its mission and people, to one that cares only about the business aspects.

Unappreciative of its people, inability to retain good talent, does not provide a career path or competitive pay.
Pros
Great People / Coworkers
Cons
Management, culture, pay

Great people, not so great pay
CLIENT SERVICE REP (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAJuly 5, 2017
I've met some of the most wonderful humans at THC, however, the pay for the work load is a bit low. taking on more work oftentimes means getting paid less.
Pros
Snacks, great people, amazing atmosphere
Cons
Low pay, poor communication in management.

Supply Planner (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAMay 31, 2017
Beautiful office, lots of perks and events. Started off very social, everyone was friends. Things changed after rounds of lay offs. Did not pay very well.

Its OK, but it can be awesome!
Software QA Engineer (Former Employee) –  Playa Vista, CAMarch 6, 2017
As an employee for almost 2 years, I learned a great deal. I learned from the peers that actually did the work, not management. Management is lacking and not very transparent. Communication is one sided. Advancement is non-existent. It is a great place to work if you want to learn new technologies. The office culture is always uplifting and inviting.

Customer Service Trainer (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXMarch 3, 2017
The people definitely make the company. It is all about who works there. The culture is great. The pay is not great; however the mission and the people definitely make up for it.

It's customer service
Client Services Representative (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXFebruary 13, 2017
It's customer service so there will be good calls and bad calls. Gets pretty stressful and there's not a lot of opportunity to advance. The people are great, but there's a lack of communication between the departments.
Pros
Great culture, great people, good employee discounts
Cons
Micromanaging, it's customer service, lack of communication, stressful and low pay

Loved working here. No advancement opportunities and no transparency about said lack of opportunities, but I love the culture and the people with whom I've worked.

Great company culture!
Client Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXJanuary 5, 2017
Working for a company like Honest is very rewarding. It's a young and game changing company, so naturally it is exciting to be a part of. The company culture is great, benefits are awesome and everyone who works their is delightful-- their recruiting is spot on.

The company has grown very quickly and continues to act as a startup... leading to frequent mistakes and a lack of organization and protocol. They have a lot of people in high level positions who have been with the company since the beginning but are not necessarily the best fit for their position. The CS department gave many false hopes of moving up or around within the company while I was there.
Pros
Healthy snacks, gym reimbursement and great culture
Cons
Micromanaging, little room for growth

You're answering calls all day, it gets very repetitive after a while. Very few management left. Culture is the best part of the job, nice people and good perks (food, events).

Great place to work, cool environment, amazing people. The products sell themselves and are well sought after. The only bad part is that the pay is ultra low.

Awesome company to work for
Senior Representative (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXAugust 19, 2015
I worked for Honest for less than a year, but really enjoyed it. Starting out in client services was a bit exhausting, but definitely a stepping stone. There is a lot of room for advancement in the company. If you work hard, you will excel. The culture of the office is great. There are fun events almost every week and the office is full of fun, high energy people. The benefits are pretty good- insurance, paid vacation days, paid holidays, company sponsored happy hours, product discounts. I would recommend working for Honest!

Company
very intriguing and great company (Current Employee) –  breiningsville, paAugust 6, 2015
The management and staff do help out even when you need to vent or don't want to work the same position everyday. A typical day is picking and packing diapers, wipes and essentials learned what a front end label is and how to ship properly. My co-workers are very considerate and helpful and there is no drama which is great. The hardest part is running back and forth and waiting for replens and when the conveyor is getting backed up having to wait to put the product on the line.

You make what you put in but very redundant work with no perks
Client Services Representative (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXJuly 15, 2015
Early start time at 7 AM answering calls from members of The Honest Company. Take calls, then afterwards answer emails at the end of day listening to angry customers. Not much room for growth or advancement at all, only client services department in Austin.

Super fun work culture in a very fast-paced start up work environment.
Client Services Representative (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXMay 5, 2015
A typical day at work consisted of taking calls and assisting customers in an efficient and productive manner.
My co-workers made the work environment so much fun.
It was also very important to be self-disciplined as this job made room for a lot of autonomy and very little micromanagement.
Hardest part of the job was handling extremely difficult customers.
