Productive .
Cashier (Former Employee), Spring, TX –
We got the job done. Managers knew what they were doing and what they wanted done. Coworkers and I were trained well on how to follow at tasks, which weren't too hard at all. I liked the environment. Although it was a grocery store, they have a variety of clients and co workers. I hated cleaning the carts. I liked checking out the customers and keeping – more...  a smile on my face. – less

Very friendly work environment
Pharmacy Technician Level 2 (Former Employee), Benwood, WV –
Pros: friendly, safe work place
Cons: not enough hours.
I learned a lot working as a Pharmacy Technician, my co- workers were friendly and everyone worked well together. The hardest part of being a Pharmacy Tech. was witnessing people who couldn't afford their Medications and therefore go without. The most enjoyable part of my job was meeting customers.

Kroger was okay.
Cashier (Former Employee), Dayton, OH –
I think it was just that I started at the wrong time, I came in at a time when it was thanksgiving and Christmas, so it was difficult to get the proper training I needed, which lead me to leave shortly after in January.

Meat clerk/Floater (Former Employee), Frisco, TX –
Pros: 90% cworkers comp cheap insurance
Cons: managment.
This company is all about the money not the employee. You are not allowed to have time off if your child becomes ill. I had to work when my son was in the hospital. Or i would of been fired.

Fun
Checker/Courtesy Clerk/Deli/Bakery (Former Employee), Clarksville, TN –
Pros: management & co-workers
Cons: not enough hours to keep myself afloat
Customer service, sales transaction, bagging, utility cleaning, deli cut requests, sandwich prep, and bakery. Selected to conduct customer food demonstrations that escalated record sales in the meat, seafood and deli/bakery. Recognized for customer engagement and sales by store management and district offices and asked to provide sales training for – more...  all departments for three stores to begin new year.
Management and coworkers were a pleasure to work with! – less

Nice clean work environment
Customer Care Specialist (Former Employee), Huntsville, AL –
Pros: clean, convenient, and organized.
Cons: rainy days and collecting carts.
Bagging customers groceries, helping them to their car which requires us to lift heavy things when asked. collecting carts and also asked to help in the back lifting things or organizing shelves. I learned how to organize things very quickly with out thinking about it. My co-workers were enjoyable and can be fun to be around. Management did their job – more...  and made sure the workers did theirs keeping the place running nicely. The best part about the day was conversating with customers and and when management asked for help in the back with stocking and organizing. – less

Too much playing among some of the younger staff
Cashier (Current Employee), Spring, TX –
Pros: not sure.
Cons: see above.
The hours are sometime ridiculous and I've been told the computer does the schedule. Funny, a person has to actually operate the computer. Many of the cashiers and sackers are young or teenagers and there's a lot of immaturity and playing that goes on when the manager isn't looking. This also includes one of the Co-Managers. In addition, there is (or – more...  so it seems) some racial issues as well. – less

Productive and fun workplace
Bakery Associate (Former Employee), Mansfield, TX –
My coworkers were great and I learned a lot about being in the bakery. I also applied my customer service skills as far as serving the customers and I picked up a skill as far as decorating cakes are concerned. My manager was also great to me. I learned a lot from him.

Terrible
Facilities (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA –
Cons: everything
They suck!!!!!!!!

The most interbred place I haved ever seen.

They do not welcome outsiders and will use them then throw they away.

I heard at least 100 times, "we have done it that way for 20 years, why should we change". Did not matter if the change was for the better.

If you start out as a bagger you can work your way up.

Ever meeting started – more...  with introductions and how many years they had been with the company. If you did not have at least 10 years your opinion was useless.

To be avoided at all costs. – less

Not a very fun place to work. Over worked and underpaid
Supervisor/Customer Service Desk (Former Employee), Memphis, TN –
Cons: short breaks, benefits not so good.
A typical day here would be constantly standing, bending, kneeling, and picking up items, having to ask for a break and sometimes not geting one. My co-workers were ok to work with but the management team was horrible.
