About The Larkin Center
The Larkin Center is celebrating 114 continuous years of service this year! Based in Elgin, Illinois, this full-service treatment center provides the following:
Youth Residential for up to 50 youth ages 8 to 18 experiencing emotional and/or behavioral challenges. While the program serves youth across Northern Illinois, referrals are accepted from – more... any geographic region. Adult for the chronic mentally ill seeking enhanced independent living skills
State-of-the-art, therapeutic day school for up to 100 students grades 1-12 at risk of dropping out of school. The facility serves students from more than 20 school districts in Northern Illinois. Outpatient family counseling for children, teens and their families struggling with mental illness or behavior issues
The agency's mission is, "Teaching Skills - Changing Lives. We serve 250 people every year by creating an environment which is structured, protective, and therapeutic. We also provide services to enhance a person's intellectual, emotional, vocational, physical, and spiritual capabilities.
Thanks to the thoroughness and integrity of its treatment programs, the Council on Accreditation or COA gave high marks to the Larkin Center in early 2006.
