The Nebraska Medical Center was formed in 1997 with the merger of Clarkson Hospital, Nebraska's first hospital, and University Hospital, the teaching hospital for the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The Nebraska Medical Center is known for excellence, innovation and quality patient care. This 689 bed, not-for-profit hospital has an international reputation for providing solid organ and bone marrow transplantation services and is well known nationally and regionally for its oncology, neurology and cardiology programs.
