Due to our continuing expansion, we wish to recruit an experienced Operations Engineer to join our Professional Services team based in our Sandyford offices in Dublin, Ireland.

The Professional Services team is responsible for the delivery of TNF products to our global customers and interact on a daily basis with Sales and Engineering as well as external customers.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Engineer will be responsible for

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical responsibility for successful and on-time deployment of projects to which they are assigned
  • Physical installation of proprietary H/W at customers data centres, and integration of same with customers data network infrastructure
  • Installation and configuration of software application in a Linux environment
  • Completion of technical documentation for new deployments
  • Support new and existing deployments through the analysis of metrics, software logs, systems logs, hardware alarms etc to troubleshoot problems and perform preventative maintenance on the various products.
  • Creation of new tools and automation of existing ones to improve efficiency of product maintenance
  • Ensure established quality control procedures are adhered to as well as be able to refine and improve upon them
  • Extended travel to international customer sites will be required from time to time


  • BSc in Computer Science or related field

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working in the Mobile Telecoms environment.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in supporting complex IT systems in a UNIX/Linux environment.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience working with UNIX/Linux systems, including file system management/creation and network configuration/troubleshooting.
  • 2-3 years UNIX/Linux scripting. E.g. bash/awk/sed.
  • UNIX/Linux Hardware experience desirable.
  • Available to travel for 2-3 month periods
  • Must have a strong troubleshooting and problem solving attitude.
  • Must work on own initiative and require minimal direction and management once established in the role.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively within time constraints
  • Must be able to operate effectively in stressful / difficult situations
  • Strong Analytical skills are essential
  • Excellent customer-facing manner is essential
  • Excellent communication skills are essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working within a Telecoms organisation
  • Experience working within Mobile Data and GTP protocols
  • Start-up or emerging business experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of two years experience working in a software engineering company
  • Minimum of one years experience in a role that involves face to face interaction with external customers
  • Fluency in English
