Upscale Assisted Living Community in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland is seeking an experienced Memory Care Director to manage a new dementia care program in a well-established, highly regarded senior housing community. This person would be responsible for initiating and facilitating new programming and partnering with the management team for the coordination of services to residents and their families with the highest level of service and satisfaction. The spectrum of tasks would include coordinating of person-centered personal care services along with oversight of the medication management in accordance with regulatory standards, managing staff and schedules, leading by example and conducting on-going staff training, managing expenses, conducting assessments and assisting in the marketing and outreach process and lastly but not least, have a passion for working with those afflicted with memory loss making meaningful difference in daily interactions.
Job Requirements: This person should have at least 4 years of previous professional experience in working with seniors with memory loss, with at least 2 years of which included managing a Dementia Care environment. A nurse is preferred. Additionally an RCFE Administrators Certification is preferred as well. Must have a strong proficiency with all computer programs along with possessing strong written and verbal communication skills, competent in organizational and time management, independent thinker and demonstrate good judgment with solid problem solving skills.
