Research and Teaching Assistant (Former Employee) – Tulsa, OK – June 19, 2017
I had an overall positive experienced in the University of Tulsa as a Teaching Assistant during my Masters education. The professors and students were very friendly and I believe both were technically sounded. It is an advantage to study in a small university with a strong curriculum for oil and gas such as TU. You get to learn and share ideas in a very relaxed environment.

Manager of Training & Development (Current Employee) – Tulsa, OK – November 11, 2015
Universities have only a slow and slower speed when it relates to change. Possibly due to not wanting to make a mistake. If you learn to roll with the flow it makes life easier. Most days are preparing for a course/workshop I'm facilitating. Teach courses in several areas for staff, 3-4 hours per session. Sending reminders to participants about a class they enrolled in. Updating with revisions online OSHA training's. Overseeing equipment related to the CPR/AED. Challenging to work with such a broad range of staff having no higher education or several degrees.
Everyone who is on staff feels they have taken on several additional jobs that are expected to be produced within an 8 hour day. Stressful at times.
Most coworkers are pleasant and some are more pro-active in their job task than others. Managers tend to need a refresher course in communication and valuing staff. Faculty are interesting to know, graduate students are manipulative and undergrads are wide-eyed and young.
A university is a very stimulating environment that so many opportunities to engage in new ideas and information avail themselves.
Beautiful campus, above average faculty and students

Work-Student Advicing Office (Former Employee) – Tulsa, OK – August 25, 2014
First go in check to see if any files need to be filed and see if Jane had a list of files that need to be pulled so she could review them. Make copies of everything on shelf that she needed copies made. Then go to class come back and fax papers. Answer phone if everything is done that she has laid out to be done. I would see there was anything that see need done right away. If reports needed type I would type them I would sort papers out. I keep everything running smoothly. I keep everything done and done on time so she would not have make sure I something to or tell what to do. She could depend on me getting my work done. I was the only work-study to catch all her filling up and keep it caught up. She wanted me to stay and work for her.
