I worked briefly at Jefferson - about 6 months. However, management kept putting money and the 'ol' boys' mentality ahead of quality and thorough program development. As a program director, I couldn't stand by it. Also, I find the school is very poor in their treatment of senior administration from under-represented groups in STEM (well, the few that are present) - the school's culture will let you know that you're not wanted or you'll be put on display as a 'token' but prevented from making real decisions. I learned a great deal with the program's development and made great contacts but, in the end, the depressing environment and lack of support for my program took a toll on my health. Higher education has issues with diversity in general. However, I would recommend seeking another institution that is more progressive with mentoring and support for diverse faculty and senior admin. For 'folks', this place is a stone not worth stepping on... – less
