When I started with Sunbelt Software, I had never worked for a software company before and really enjoyed that type of environment / culture. Enjoyed working my way up in the company and the people I worked with.
After GFI acquired Sunbelt Software, the integration of the two companies didn't lend itself for a smooth transition. The folks coming over from GFI offices seemed to have an arrogance towards the Sunbelt staff and this never allowed a functional environment.
Likely why GFI wanted ThreatTrack Security to split off as the integration was affecting the company as a whole. Once ThreatTrack became its own entity, the work-place seemed to become more like it was before, but due to the spending from the GFI executives, this left very little for ThreatTrack to operate with the size staff, so layoffs started to occur.
Company sponsored lunch events. Fun enviornment, and always getting to learn new technologies.
Poor executive management after the aquisition by GFI. Too much spending, no quality direction for the products and allowing the wrong people to influence descions.
