A typical day at work was kinda hectic. I would open the store, take prescriptions, and help customers pick up their medications and double check it was the right person, right med, right dose. I would create orders of things that the store needed in the front of the store, and our OTC section for the Long term care section of our store. Then I would put my orders away. All while helping customers. I would also help the drive thru and prepare mailouts and deliveries.
I learned a lot about the medications that people were picking up. I learned what they are used for and some side effects. I never consulted anyone on these because that's illegal, but I still liked to learn what things were used for.
I can't say much about management.
I loved the workplace. It was definitely different from all of the other places I worked at. There was a lot expected of me, and I feel like I always provided.
The hardest part of my job was if there were insurance issues, which isn't the store's fault, it's usually the insurance companies. It was hard to find the right words to explain to the customers what was happening without upsetting them.
The most enjoyable part of the job was helping people out and working alongside people who had the same goals in life as I do.
