Bilstein of America supplies product to a wide range of Original Equipment Automotive Manufacturers as well as Aftermarket and Motorsports.

Scope: This position leads and manages Lean and Six Sigma project portfolios in order to accomplish measurable business process improvements. This position works with the Operations and Staff on planning, designing, and accomplishing key projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to all company policies and procedures and actively promotes Continuous Improvement and its activities and services to others

Contributes significantly to the strategic direction of the Lean initiative, participates in all Kaizen events, improves processes and eliminates waste in key constraint areas. Improves safety, quality, productivity and delivery of metric numbers in all departments where projects are assigned. Interacts with production supervisors and employees to identify waste and improvement opportunities

Presents, facilitates and leads assigned process improvement projects using methods of culture-appropriate team building, team energizing, data gathering and analysis, problem solving, project management and state of the art low cost automation design skills

Demonstrates ability to design and develop a new machine/tool or operational process using improved or untested design to effect improvements. The employee is required to transform concept into detail drawing using modeling software for millwright to build the tool/fixture

Prepares purchase information for departmental management review to identify materials, software and other resources required for effective implementation of Continuous Improvement

Coordinates with related departments and functions to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5 plus years of experience in process improvement/function
  • Black Belt certification through Six Sigma accredited organization preferred
  • Expertise leading Kaizen events and implementing changes to improve products or reduce costs using lean tools, knowledge of processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards
  • Extensive knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, DFSS, Lean)
  • Strong analytical, statistical and computer skills
  • Experience in the review of financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement
  • Ability to influence the organization from the shop floor to the Staff Managers
