Very productive and creative place to work
Coastal Living Magazine (Former Employee), Birmingham, ALAugust 22, 2013
Pros: free products and books that we featured, 5 summer fridays off
Cons: management and constant layoffs
I was hired as a designer to take on the tablet version of the magazine because it is a growing field. Although it was challenging at first, it soon became mundane. I was not included on the planning side to the job, producing stories and working with writers and photographers, etc. which is my favorite part of working in editorial. There are some very – more... talented people here, but the constant flux of layoffs and rehiring also makes for a tense environment. – less

Great organization, but industry is pointing downward. Strong benefits and very employee friendly work environment.

Collaborative workplace with bright, innovative thinkers
Associate Research Manager (Current Employee), New York, NYApril 9, 2013
My experience as Associate Research Manager at Time Inc. has been very rewarding. I get the chance to work closely with editors and marketing teams across a variety of brands including Time, Fortune, Sports Illustrated and Money Magazine. I have developed invaluable skills conducting consumer research by moderating focus groups, creating surveys and – more... presenting results to clients, both on the editorial and advertising side. I design and implement surveys to meet clients' research and analysis needs and create marketing communications to be sent to advertisers. I have also learned how to put together audience targeting plans and consumer segmentation strategies, and to present recommendations for brand enhancements to senior management and sales teams. – less
