Great place to work, though bogged down by its own history
Senior Producer (Current Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 30, 2017
Time is a great place to work, though the video field here is stagnant. It is a very reactive environment, always playing catch-up to its media rivals.
Pros
Great benefits, great cafeteria
Cons
hard to move up, very corporate

I learned a lot
Internship (Former Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 27, 2017
While interning here I learned a lot about working as a graphic artist and how to work with various companies. I got to sit in on meetings and learn from the inside out what it takes to work on a design team.

Senior Manager (Project), Human Resources (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 24, 2017
During my tenure there was considerable change within the organization. That being said, the HR department was incredibly caring and sensitive to the needs of its employees.

Digital Designer (Current Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 15, 2017
Loved my job at Time Inc, but with the state of the company, its very hard to advance and get paid for the work that I do there. I love the projects and the coworkers, and great benefits.

Great Company
HR (Current Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 22, 2017
Time Inc. is a great company. However, there are areas with lower job security than others due to a lot of recent change. There is room for advancement, but in many roles that just means a title change & comp increase - not necessarily additional responsibilities.

Sometimes you work at a place where you feel very comfortable, but yet, uneasy. That's Time Inc. They want to do great things, but focus on the entirely wrong objectives.

Great comeraderie

Wrong objectives

Time Inc - Great Bands
Manager, Paid Digital (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 31, 2017
A great company with iconic brands. The company culture is strong and we get to work with intelligent individuals. There is a strong work life balance. The only con is upper management needs to communicate more with where they see this company heading.

Marketing (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 6, 2017
Time Inc has always been an enjoyable place to work. The energy and people made the office a very fun environment. Unfortunately the publishing industry is struggling and the company is continually downsizing.

Boring
Marketing Specialist (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLJune 28, 2017
No one has any enthusiasm and the day-to-day work is boring. There is a constant fear of lay-offs because the company has no money. All of the systems that we use are antiquated.

Productive and busy workplace
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 26, 2017
Productive and busy workplace ... business has been ever changing with the company becoming more digital focused. Over the last 2 years, the company has become more category oriented. All salespeople are responsible for a category to sell across all the Time Inc. titles. Unfortunately, 300 people were just let go due to re-assessment of positions and I am one of them.
Pros
Free coffee, sodas and snacks

Good company adjusting to changing media landscape.
Editor-in-Chief, Editor, Senior Editor (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJune 25, 2017
Time Inc. employs only the best of the publishing world, in all categories (editing, sales, marketing, circulation, pre-press, production, etc.). It now is adapting to a publishing environment that moves faster than print, and leans more towards marketing content as opposed to informational content. It always will have the advantage over others of having a larger existing mass audience than any other company.
