You are an experienced Linux Engineer who has high level experience supporting Linux (Red Hat) servers and open source applications in an enterprise environment. You enjoy being the architect, leading a project, planning and designing a solution that fits within an enterprise IT environment. Working on servers setup with 50 or more virtual servers that are running on Open Source is something you really enjoy. You will responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting the Open Source Linux (Redhat) environment. You will provide internal and external support for Open Source -based systems and have an extensive Open Source LINUX scripting/automation experience in PHP, PERL, bash, and shell scripts. You will need a solid working knowledge of the OSI application model and databases. The client runs a large ISP type network with services that are for school throughout the US.
This is a well-established company who has been in business for over 15+ years supplying voice and telephony services for the schools throughout the US. The types of services they offer are Internet access, wide area networks, and interconnected VoIP and videoconferencing services. Currently they are working to offer cloud services as well. Experience with Redhat Linux in an Enterprise environment is a must. Enterprise environment would be 50 or more servers using various open source applications examples below.
Experience with some or all of the following applications are preferred: BIND 8/9, NGINX, Apache, Zimbra, Tomcat, Sendmail, Postfix, MailScanner, SpamAssassin, MySQL, Couchbase, PostgreSQL, Nagios, Cricket, Rancid, SNMP, LDAP, GIT, CVS, PHP, Perl, Python and shell scripting
Experience with Open Source LINUX scripting/automation experience in PHP, PERL, bash, and shell scripts some are required or all would be a bonus.
Basic knowledge of SQL, Cisco IOS and routing preferred. Experience working in an ISP environment preferred. Linux Certifications are a plus.
Knowledge of SAN technologies including fiber and ISCSI connectivity.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Linux KVM or CloudStack.
