Core values at the heart of a unique concept.
Pros: They feed you (up to $10 on the menu), they have your back, they let you put your personal touch on things
Cons: I honestly can't think of any. It is fast paces, so get ready to run!
TopGolf is the best company I have seen at hiring based on who you are, not what's on your resume. I had the privilege of writing my adaptation of Core Values and having corporate apply it to their training material. Corporate at TopGolf actually listens to you. How many other companies can say that about their leaders?
My personal belief is hiring first on attitude because that is not a teachable trait. Your skill set is. It wasn't just a job with me at TopGolf. It was a great marriage. Unfortunately I had circumstances that required me to move away, but I took with me an experience and more positive outlook on the job industry. I also took with me a couple hundred new friends that I met during my journey with them.
Management is very understanding there. They show the benefit of the doubt, but of course they're not going to let you blatantly get away with taking advantage of their kindness and understanding.
The hardest part of the job was only physical. You will definitely get your miles in, but a little hard work killed nobody. The most enjoyable was the people. We hired those who had that positive energy, therefore it was so enjoyable getting to know everybody and working with them. We were a team. We were a strong team. I still keep in touch with everybody even though I have moved away. I made many friends for life, and I can't say that about the other jobs that I have had.
I love TopGolf. It will always be a part of me.
