Pros: good pay and benefits, opportunity to grow and move to other depts.

The company was big in electronics as the inventor of the laptop. Opportunities to work with many people from different cultures, different business units was great. The work is hard but the pay is competitive.

Sales Operations Representative (Former Employee), Irvine, CAMay 28, 2014
Pros: good compensation package and benefits. lots of fun company events
Cons: not many opportunities for carrer advancement
I oversaw order management from end to end for 50 distributor accounts. The management team was very supportive and informative. Clear and concise management's directions helped us to get the tasks done successfully.
The hard part of the job is to meet 100% customer satisfaction.
The most enjoyable part of the job is to be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

Could be a good place to work..depending
Systems Engineer (Current Employee), Irvine, CASAMay 7, 2014
Pros: very easy going work culture. good work/life balance.
Cons: no focus on employee skill development. near-zero training budget.
Very laid back environment. Not good for career enhancement. No focus on providing technical training to employees to increase skill sets.
Advise - Stay away from Cloud Business group. More focused on outsourcing services than increasing internal staff with skills. Group management have no experience or knowledge about Cloud service provider business.

Decent place to work with moderate opportunities
Employee (Current Employee), Irvine, CAFebruary 9, 2014
Pros: decent pay, benefits, cafe on site, recognized brand
Cons: very tight budgets make it tough to get the tools needed for the job
TAIS is a decent place to work with reasonable pay and benefits. The company's culture is average however due to multiple lay offs in the past years you can tell the remaining employees aren't very enthusiastic about the companies future. There are plenty of opportunities to contribute but you may have some difficulties dealing with some of the long timers that are set in their ways. Overall its not a bad place to work as long as you understand working for a Japanese company and in a business that is on the decline in the last few years.

Huge ups and downs
Product Manager for TV (Current Employee), Irvine, CANovember 11, 2013
Need to be self motivated.
Learned to be self sufficient.
Management much like DIY style. No defined protocols.
Apathy rules on office environment.
No solid business direction or eagerness to do something new.
They are going to shoot themselves in the foot if whole management team doesn't change their approach to current market situation.

Senior Product Marketing Manager (Former Employee), Irvine, CAMay 27, 2012
Pros: used to be a great company to work for in early 2000's
Cons: lack of focus
I enjoyed most of my tenure at Toshiba. Most of the staff is knowledgeable. Strict PSI process that leads to little or no room for growth as financials are strictly linked and enforced to processes.
