Great potential in a second tier company
Director of Major Accounts (NY/NJ/CT) (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 13, 2016
Toshiba really wants to grow up and be one of the big players in the industry. Unfortunately they do not have a clear strategy and constant restructuring leads to an unstable work environment.

Great place to work 10+ years ago
Vice President & General Manager (Former Employee) –  AnonymousSeptember 25, 2016
Culture has changed for the worse. We once had a family, a tight knit group of hard working employees that loved working together. Decisions starting being made from other locations and slowly are driving it into the ground. Basic decisions starting being made from a different market that killed the spirit and knowledge of how the culture was established. Keeping the culture of any good team is vital and Toshiba lost that.

Toshiba is not doing well, so even if YOU have a great year, they will try to cut YOUR pay in order to help THEM out.
Pros
Still a few good people left
Cons
A few people you can't trust, even in HR

Customer Service Manager (Former Employee) –  King of Prussia, PASeptember 7, 2016
While working with Toshiba I dealt with established customers, I would also receive all issues and disperse them to the proper admin team, track and maintain responsibility for the tasks to be completed in a proper time frame. Job was amazing, I learned a lot.

Operations Manager (Former Employee) –  Arlington Heights, ILAugust 9, 2016
Business was slow and needed to be more action.

Manager was always fair and listed to ideas.

Co-workers were friendly.

Hardest part of the job was the drive to work in the AM due to lights and traffic.

Senior Commercial Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  KentuckyJuly 15, 2016
Toshiba Business Solutions is an ok company to work for. Leadership is mostly involved in the day to day operations however, they answer to a corporate office that is run by accountants. They don't have much of an idea what the sales reps on the street are really up against.

Every day was different with new people and new opportunities to work with.
REGIONAL SALESMAN (Former Employee) –  Midland, TXJuly 12, 2016
Each day was filled with new faces to meet and new needs to provide for in potential customers. Building relationships and bonds was the most fun and difficult at the same time. Being able to be mobile and free to move about was good for one's frame of mind.

They need to have someone managing their database. The information within the database is not being managed resulting in inaccurate information.

Outside Sales: only hunters need apply
Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Wilmington, MAApril 16, 2016
This is a great opportunity if you are ready to work 60+ hours a week; nights, weekends and holidays to prepare for strong phone appointment setting 2 days a week for three days of face time with prospects. You will prepare all administrative work after prime selling hours (which are 9-4). The 5 week training schedule is obscure and not completely relevant to your daily requirements, but there are some good points to gain from it.

Compensation is fair and you're expected to reach your goals within 3-4 months of hire. The honeymoon is over after 12 months. Then you better be atleast 80% of goal.

First year earnings with no outside sales experience (if you survive) is $45-55,000. Aggressive, experienced phone appointment setters can do better, $55-60,00 in the first year, but that's rare.

Turnover is very high. 70% of the people from your training class will be gone within 6 months. Then only one or two will survive another year.

Industry is Flat, more focus is on selling third party software. Hardware is outdated and not best in class.
Pros
Earning potential can be good for the few that survive., Great place to learn about how other businesses function.
Cons
Can be a grueling work load., Stressful., Not always fun., Must cold call prospect outside regardless of weather conditions., High Turnover!

Sketchy future
Corporate (Current Employee) –  Irvine, CAApril 15, 2016
Don't be surprised if this company is sold off in the next round of restructuring due to the global accounting scandal. Several Toshiba subsidiaries are currently under a US Dept of Justice probe, though the specific entities have not been identified. There is considerable internal chaos and infighting among middle and upper management. Employees are to be seen and not heard.
Pros
Unconventional perks like concerts, golf tornaments, etc.
Cons
Long hours, management culture, lies about benefits to get you in the door, financially unstable parent companies, and much more
