Quick paced environment with long hours
Logistics Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILDecember 11, 2017
Great place to get a feel for the working world. Learn a lot with how many hours put in on a daily basis. Not much freedom to move around during the day. Fun culture with emphasis on results. After traveling to and from work plus working hours, left with 3 hours in the day to myself. Not to mention 24/7 on call if there were any problems. After a few months of that, found out it was not the career for me.

Logistics Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Miami, FLDecember 8, 2017
Definitely a great place for a person fresh out of college to get there feet wet in the corporate world.

It was a great atmosphere, for the most part.

Tough if your numbers are down though. A saturated industry as well.

Not worth your time..
Logistics Account Executive (Current Employee) –  Nashville, TNDecember 8, 2017
This Job is more of a headache than I imagined it would be. Work day operates off of EST which is a drag if you live somewhere west. The job is excruciatingly repetitive. The only thing that changes is the various jokers you are constantly questioning on the phone if they are lying to you.
Pros
Their are good people that work there, however..
Cons
Pretty much everything..

Senior Logistics Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILDecember 6, 2017
You can make a lot of money at TQL but you will be working day and night. There is minimal work life balance and the afterhours dept is little help to employees.

Great workplace but not for me
Logistics Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHDecember 5, 2017
It was a fun place to work at! My team was enthusiastic and was always friendly and motivating to everyone. What I learned was how to sell and gain experience with cold calling and management was good but I wasn't pushed enough to be the best that I could be. Workplace culture is fantastic! and the hardest part was trying to find customers and the most enjoyable part was the people
Pros
company culture
Cons
extensive cold calling

Stressful and Competitive
Logistics Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCDecember 5, 2017
TQL is a puppy mill where they blitz new college graduates and bring you in before you find other employment or realize what they are.

Once employed they push you to share all of your potential business contacts and reach out to as many potential companies as possible, then give you the option to quit or fire you and hand over the companies and contacts that you did business with to the "senior staff".

It is possible to make money here but ~75% of employees do not make it past the 6 month mark and even fewer past the first year. It is cut-throat and not for the faint of heart. Management does not care about their staff until they have worked there for over a year because it is a revolving door position.

Claims Coordinator Lead (Former Employee) –  Milford, OHDecember 5, 2017
TQL will hire for the lowest amount of pay, and not compensate for the jobs they give to their employees. The company has went from number one brokerage in the USA to the last. They do not treat the employees nor customers or carriers with respect.

Fun atmosphere but there is no room to grow and make more than the base salary.
Logistics Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Nashville, TNDecember 4, 2017
Fun atmosphere to work in, but the growth opportunity is weak. You learn the ins and outs of running your own book of business. Which involves prospecting for loads, securing the load, building the load, then finding a carrier willing to take the load from pick to drop. Once you find a carrier you have to negotiate your price to carry that load so you can walk away with a little profit.

Logistics Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Detroit, MIDecember 2, 2017
TQL was an excellent place to work. You really have the opportunity to earn a great income if your willing to work hard. I would have stayed with TQL had I not had to relocate for my spouse to another state where TQL was not located near enough for me. I would highly recommend TQL to anyone who has the confidence and work ethic to make a lot of money.

Excellent Work Environment, Though it's just a Distraction
Logistics Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCDecember 1, 2017
TQL is an okay place to work if you want to have a crash course introduction and solid ground work to learn the industry of transportation. Though, at the end of the day, they like other companies figured out how to use the desperation of the youth and just enough pay to have a wash out cycle constantly bringing in fresh salesman, then pushing them to burnout, let them go when they no longer feel motivated to perform or valued as a member of the company and replace them with the next desperate college kid and that's how the story goes for every class that follows. It's genius really, taking advantage of overpopulation and a broken system however, all of the small things add up and even customers revealed to me most of the time they will only work with us when they're desperate because we're all so young and "unprofessional". It's a cut throat gig and I've seen countless people who make revenue enough to make commission not actually get paid commission due to all the rules and regulations put in place that have to be met to make good money here. You give up 80% of commission to reap the benefits of a company that pretty much make you do the grunt work and the glory work. I had a solid 11 months at the company, listened to bad advice from my boss and was let go. Honestly speaking, riding out 6 of those months because all my other job offers were the same kinda get rich quick schemes. You're better off going to work for yourself or go to Border Patrol and get on that pension trail. Border Patrol at least has the decency to recognize commitment with a $10000 salary increase every  more... year. That being said, hang around long enough and you'll get everyone who quits customers and maybe get lucky enough to move out of your parents house or that roommate you found on craigslist.  less
Pros
Excellent Education in Logistics;though you learn it the hard way
Cons
Company will let you down more than it helps.

You control your future at TQL
Group Sales Manager (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLDecember 1, 2017
If you have a knack for sales, you're coachable and resilient, then you should look into TQL.

The job is tough. It's sales over the phone. You'll experience rejection daily and some days you can do everything right and still lose. It's not for everyone and a lot of people don't make it. However, If you can grind through the tough days and keep pushing towards the bigger goal then you can see financial success that few other jobs offer.

There's no hidden agenda. The goal is to connect carriers with shippers who have freight to move. Look into what it takes to be successful in phone sales. Research the company. If you like what you see and think you might be a good fit, then explore the opportunities they offer.
Pros
compensation, culture, company's reputation in the industry
Cons
rejection, stress, industry

Sales Team Leader Logistics Account Executive (Current Employee) –  Pittsburgh, PANovember 29, 2017
TQL provides one of the best work cultures around. That being said, it is a sales position. So, just like any sales position, it can be very stressful. When you are doing well, it is the best job around. When business falters, it can be a drag.

Logistics Account Executive (Current Employee) –  Dania Beach, FLNovember 26, 2017
This is the type of sales where you are cold calling and POUNDING the phones day in and day out. You are also required to manage your own account and handle all accounts receivables. I do not have an issue with the process / overall work load. HOWEVER, don't expect to be paid commission until you start bringing in over 4k a week in revenue for the company, which can take anywhere from 6-18 months after you start the sales process.

There was a lot of good people who worked there. It was fun and I learned a lot. Compensation for your time is pretty bad. Hard to survive on if you have a family for those months of training

Great company to work for in a challenging industry. You get back what you put in. Slackers need not apply as this is not a job for everyone. Corporate culture and pay potential are outstanding if you have the drive to succeed.
