The Senior Business Analyst will play an integral role in the replatform/redesign website project to ensure all deliverables are met and the website is launched on schedule. This includes documenting and managing project plans, gathering business requirements, analysis, evaluating potential enhancements and developing solutions to business problems, writing functional requirements, and supporting initial setup and data population efforts. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the IT Business Analysts and Developers, as well as cross-functionally with many internal business groups, to ensure the project is delivered on time and according to the specifications. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be able to communicate across all levels of the organization, think critically, and have expert collaboration and time-management skills. The Sr. Analyst, eCommerce (Business Analyst) is also responsible for the development of test cases and will have a hands-on role in user acceptance testing. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced business analyst to learn many aspects of the business while supporting and developing Total Wine & More’s eCommerce presence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Business Analysis

  • Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of our organization and industry
  • Works with business owners and users to determine current and planned functionality and business processes
  • Assists various stakeholders with ad-hoc business analysis tasks
  • Leads requirements and functionality sessions, driving stakeholders to make sound decisions
  • Thoroughly conducts user acceptance testing

Application Knowledge

  • Develops deep, thorough understanding of internal business rules, processes, and data
  • Develops deep expertise with internal application functionality, as it relates to the website
  • Understands interdependencies between website and various internal custom applications
  • Serves as a go-to website functionality subject matter expert for others’ questions

Organization and Documentation

  • Documents detailed project plans, manage timelines, and organize resources
  • Creates detailed business and functional requirements documents, use cases, and test scripts
  • Writes and executes effective test plans and test cases, documents results and reproduction steps, and works with internal and external IT resources to resolve issues

Customer Satisfaction

  • Communicates project status and issues to necessary stakeholders and supervisor
  • Communicates effectively with internal customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal customer satisfaction and deepen relationships
  • Manages internal customer expectations effectively

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field required
  • 3+ years’ experience with business analysis and requirements gathering
  • Experience working on website/eCommerce projects a plus
  • Experience working in a retail organization a plus
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills, and the ability to effectively apply knowledge
  • Comfortable with quantitative analysis and drawing conclusions to create an action plan
  • Proven, demonstrated capability in gathering and documenting complex business and functional requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present and explain detailed analysis and reports
  • Ability to communicate and work in a cross-functional team environment to achieve common objectives
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple requests at once while meeting deadlines
  • Acute attention to detail in producing deliverables while understanding big-picture objectives and strategy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Superb time management skills working with tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
  • General eCommerce foundation with website and internet marketing experience a plus
  • Working familiarity with Basic SQL query writing and Microsoft Access query writing is a plus
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics a plus
