I love my job, it is incredibly rewarding, and I love the patients I work with. However, I am at a point in my life where I need to make more money to start saving for my future, and the money I am making at touching hearts is not enough to reach my long term goals.
A typical day at work consists of not only assisting patients physically, as in bathing, walking assistance etc, but preparing meals, and providing companionship as well. I have learned that everyone has a story, and if you truly listen to stories older people have to tell, you realize that so many of them lived incredible lives and accomplished so much. I find it inspiring. The most difficult part of my job is seeing my patients decline and in some instances passing away.
