A day at work
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 19, 2016
My typical day at work was short, seeing as how it was part-time, only 5 hours a day, 4 days a week. But the experience gained has been so rewarding in terms of my growth. I got to see first hand how a college runs, its budgetary requirements, fiscal accountability and how the administrative side of this organization functions. I learned first hand how productive data bases mean to a colleges well being. The amount of work needed to keep these up to date is enormous. My days may have been short but it expanded my knowledge of administrative assistants duties greatly.
Pros
Good, Great Co-Workers
Cons
Short hours

Not a fair and decent place to work
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJanuary 29, 2016
Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine is a great medical school but in terms of its employees, rates far below normal expectations. Work is passed down to low level employees who are paid peanuts, unappreciated and disrespected on the norm while clueless doctors are paid a ridiculous amount. No job security. Not compensated fairly for work load.
Pros
Co-workers, not micromanaged
Cons
unrealistic work load, little respect for low level employees, not compensated adequately for expected output, racial undertones

Associate to Certification Officer (Current Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 28, 2015
A typical work day involves various aspects from live student interaction to heavy phones and emails to data entry and maintenance. I've learned a great deal about higher education and requirements for teaching certification in the State of New York. The most enjoyable part of my job is assisting students with their careers. The service I currently provide helps students begin or further their careers and feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment assisting people in their careers.
Pros
Free undergraduate tuition
Cons
Expensive healthcare benefits package.

I like to work here especially with my supervisor he is so friendly and caring I learned so much stuff from him. Troubleshooting and Maintaining computers are main duty but because so many computers in the college you see different problem in same time hence you learn fast and gain more experience not only that it is also little bit a customer caring because we have student with problems.

This is a great place to start your career and perhaps finish it - but if you are looking to learn and spend a lifetime in academia consider other schools.

Lab Technician assistant (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJuly 27, 2015
work was manageable, length of lunch breaks varied on how many hours of work you do in a day, people are friendly, computers need to be in working condition everyday, up date computers with new soft wares, and setting up projectors for classroom use or for conference meetings.
