Project Support Analyst (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXAugust 8, 2017
TC management would rather replace than retrain. The turnover causes a stressful environment and anxiety. Contract employees are treated poorly, like they are doing less work then a salary employee. Overall disappointment that such a large company would be so unorganized during an acquisition. The IT department is the best part of it all and they are so limited that their manners are all they can provide.

Human Resources Manager (Former Employee) –  Long Island, NYJuly 15, 2017
TransCanada focuses on it's people with a philosophy that without the right people they would not be successful. At TransCanada, the mantra “One Company” highlights our focus on creating a unifying culture across their operations. This includes supporting employee contributions and requiring that all new employees complete diversity training within 30 days of starting on the job.
They also believe a job well done deserves recognition. Experience has taught them that frequent and genuine acknowledgment motivates their people and strengthens relationships, contributing to their shared success.
Pros
401-K Match, Pension, Education, 2 Separate Incentive Compensation Programs

Upper management is not in touch with day-to-day field services and generally has no idea what is happening. Projects are cookie cutter and not much room for innovation.

Management was open and direct with their expectations. Challenges arose when too many initiatives competed for the same resources.
Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJune 10, 2017
The days were full of challenges from competing initiatives from several different executive origins. There are simultaneous projects to upgrade the existing network, replace EOL field devices, upgrade network security, add data storage capacity, perform commission activities, customize a new SCADA system, plan the replacement and retirement of the current SCADA applications.
These are the hardest parts and the most enjoyable challenges of the work at TC.

Good place to work, more corporate culture
Supply Chain Specialist (Current Employee) –  Houston, TXMay 15, 2017
I'm legacy Columbia and the change in culture is very obvious, however, TC isn't a horrible place just more corporate and less relaxed than CPG. The managers have a hard time making decisions.

Senior Buyer, Supply Chain Energy Operations (Current Employee) –  Westborough, MAMay 10, 2017
Hit the ground running. Potential to learn something new everyday. Team atmosphere. Can be fun but can be stressful. Support forced outages at sites - make sure they stay up and running and have what/when they need it.

I've seen government bureaucracy work more efficiently than this company. The path and tone is more important than the result of the project.

Service Delivery Manager (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXOctober 5, 2016
I joined CPG which was bought by TransCanada. CPG was a very inviting company that focused on execution. The employees understood the objective was to grow the company and do it safely. TransCanada does have a different culture. So I don't know if it's going to be the same company that I joined.

Electronic Data Specialist (Former Employee) –  Duluth, MNMay 2, 2016
Very regimen oriented work day. Daily morning meeting to share new developments and progress reporting. A small team for a very large project. Supervision was very demanding leading to great production in a short amount of time. The most enjoyable part of the job was working on a highly controversial pipeline project.

Accountant II-Planning & Cost Accounting (Former Employee) –  Downtown Houston TexasJanuary 3, 2016
Company is Canadian owned with excellent benefits. Management less likely to empower subordinates. Hardest part of job was witnessing the LACK OF TEAMWORK. Best part is learning new processes and the volunteer opps..
