The People are what really makes the place
Senior Project Manager (Current Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 23, 2017
Love the people I work with but in the Project Manager role, there is only so much room for growth. Reviews that are attached to promotions and raises are often postponed. I don't mind working long hours but the compensation is not enough. I don't feel passionate about my job but I will really miss the relaxed and supportive company culture.
Pros
Monthly team lunches, relaxed work environment, tries to promote a positive work environment
Cons
Compensation doesn't match long hours, often Sales is over promises and doesn't communicate well with Production

Company cares about money not people
Project Coordinator (Current Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 2, 2017
TransPerfect barely gives any training to anyone including their translators. They have their proprietary program that reduces the need for translators. Sales takes any job even if we can't meet the deadline, it is very stressful. The job is extremely repetitive. Always new people who barely know their role in the company since, as mentioned earlier, they get no training; it's always learning on the job. Never expect any words of praise because you won't get any. If you get 13 projects and 1 of them is wrong no one will say thank you they will just ask you to explain yourself for making a small mistake which affected nothing.
Some people are nice but talking and socializing is definitely not encouraged.

This job is for those who need more experience right out of college.

Don't work there
Former employee (Former Employee) –  AZSeptember 30, 2017
Incapable management, low pay, stressful workload. Will take about 25 calls a day , less than a few seconds break in between. Almost impossible to ask for vacation even you have earned it. Forget about taking time off to go for a Dr's appointment. Took Transperfect more than 3 months to issue a reimbursement check. Turn over is high because employees can't stand this company. Don't work for this company, don't slave yourself. Worst job I ever had.
Pros
Nothing

Interpreter (Current Employee) –  New York, NYSeptember 17, 2017
Management is ineffective but that's not the worst. My biggest problem with transperfect is that paychecks always arrive late and you have to go through unnecessarily complicated procedures in order to get paid.
Pros
None
Cons
The possibility of unable to get paid

NTERPRETER (Former Employee) –  Tempe, AZAugust 2, 2017
You have to be dressed like you make 30 plus an hour yet you get paid half of it, if that.
If you value your self, you don't work here for $12-$16 an hour.
Pros
I don't see any.
Cons
Pay is too low, Too many rules, Mcdonalds pays the same :)

This was a temporary position. They oriented everyone and taught them what needed to be done and left us to do it. Everyone at the company treated us with respect.

Strategic Account Manager / Account Executive (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 20, 2017
This is a company where the people who are assembled are all one of a kind and good at what they do. However, the struggle is that once you are placed on someone's team 'there is very little growth and development that you will have the chance to attain.
Pros
flexible schedule
Cons
lack of direction

Project Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Portland, ORJune 5, 2017
In the past 3 years 27 PMs left the Portland/ Corvallis office because all of the negative things and the management still believe that it is because they did not find the right fit.

The company values its clients more than its employees.

When employees tell there coworkers who are quitting "You are lucky because you are leaving" this tells you that there is a serious problem with this place.

Comments that I've heard from people who worked there longer than me were

"This is the worst company ever"
"I do not like it here"
"look for something better"

Paying system in unfair compared to the workload that employees have to deal with.
They expect you to be willing to work even during weekends and at night too. I've seen people work 50-60 hours a week, but only get paid for 40 (hoping to get a bonus)

If you are looking for a company that cares about you as a human being, and wants to invest in you... TransPerfect is not the one
Pros

Claims Specialist I (Current Employee) –  Tempe, AZFebruary 23, 2017
It is a very interesting and rewarding job. I have developed some great skills working at this company, but the environment under which a lot of PMs exist everyday can be exhausting. Our manager was young and inexperienced her idea of being a good leader is to demonstrate authority through condescension.

Awesome people, great product and service offerings, not a good organizational structure
Employee (Former Employee) –  Denver, CODecember 26, 2016
The people who work there are fantastic - across the board.
Compensation is too low for how hard some of those people work.
The organizational structure leaves everyone without direction and often taking on too much work BUT that leaves opportunities for those bold enough to seek them.
Company culture is lacking.
Management is great.
Pros
Good people and product
Cons
Low culture, low compensation

Interpreter (Former Employee) –  Tempe, AZNovember 8, 2016
The day starts: clock in first, then log in to computer and answering phone. it is really depending on your language if you are Spanish or Mandarin interpreter, your phone will no stop most of time unless you put in break, bathroom or lunch.
you will learn a lot when you just start, but you will adapt in easily unless your language skill are poor.

Poor management: Supervisor has no much to do except watching your bathroom, break or lunch time. Operation manager only care "business needs" and has no respect for his employee.

if you like to learn different cultures, it is enjoyable place to work.
The most of all is you can help people, and always can find nice coworkers.
Pros
meet people from different culture.
Cons
no flexible schedule

Mandarin Interpreter (Current Employee) –  Tempe, AZSeptember 1, 2016
Providing over-the-phone language services.
Professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
Co-workers are great and are from all around the world, we share cultural differences.
The hardest part of the job is to keep professional proficiency in both languages at all times.
The most enjoyable part of the job is learning new things and words through phone calls.
Pros
Good company culture.
Cons
short lunch, stressful environment, limit professional development
