Independent contractor
Account Executive (Current Employee), Tampa, FLJune 23, 2014
Pros: unlimited potential and excellent quality of life once established, in addition to owning and running your own business
Cons: having to deal with people not keeping commitments and that be a basic part of the job
A typical day at work would involve a minimum of 50 phone calls to prospects and then spending the afternoon hot knocking or cold calling on businesses in person. There are days where these two activities are switched. Also during the morning I follow up on items in pipeline and resolve client issues before leaving the office to hit the field. Interspersed – more... on any day can be the goal of the prospecting which are appointments. The hardest part is maintaining constant motivation with the knowledge that pay is not guaranteed but likewise that is also the most exciting because there are no limits. – less

Sales Representative (Former Employee), Rancho Cordova, CAJanuary 11, 2014
Trying to convince people to pay up front for an non-guaranteed result was difficult. Competition charged for results, and nothing until then.

How to get people to pay their past due bills
Management and co-workers were great to work with
Commission collections meant you got paid for what you collected so you don't collect you don't get paid.
I enjoyed the competition

If you are not just out of undergrad, don't do it
Account Executive (Current Employee), Orlando, FLDecember 6, 2012
Pros: trainin, scheudle
Cons: compensation
I credit this company with giving me a first class education in sales. My manager made sure that I learned to cold call, hot knock (door to door sales) and was very encouraging. Unfortunately the compensation is commission only. And there is NO assistance with leads, so you are essentially on your own. I would have given this more of a try if I didn't – more... have a mortgage, electric bills, water bills, and food to buy (i.e. I was just out of college and still living with mom and dad) but it's really hard to make it work. – less

Sales Executive (Former Employee), Mission, KSNovember 12, 2012
Pros: schedule control, open travel, job control
Cons: bennifits, management
While at Transworld Systems I kept a full schedule with new appointments and current client assistance. Office meetings were beneficial for working with new associates, refreshing my skills as a sales executive. The distractions from new associates while maintaining my goals was occasionally a challange. Finding out a prospect singed on with an associate – more... was the lowest day of this career. The enjoyable part of this job was overcoming the objections of a potential client, and showing how I could help their bottom line. – less

Licensed Debt Collector (Former Employee), Roseville, MNNovember 8, 2012
Pros: having office get togethers outside of the office.
Cons: being bought out by nco financial
I really enjoyed working for this company. My co-workers, managers, and reps were all great people to be with on a day to day basis.
A typical day in the office would be close accounts, contacts clients, skip trace, work fraud accounts and more,

TSI is a growing company with high income potential for representatives.
Accounts Receivable Consultant (Current Employee), Bingham Farms, MIJuly 10, 2012
Pros: tsi services are endorsed by the mda and sponsored by the ama, and are adminiserve partners with mgma.
Cons: there are no protected territories and one will have to share commission on accounts occasionally.
TSI services are one of the best available in the Collections field. However the policies and practices within the company make it very difficult to earn a good living. In the beginning of your career with TSI, one must be supported by another financially, in order to get to the desired income level. They have a good IT support system.

Assistant Branch Manager/Collector (Former Employee), Mission, KSJune 27, 2012
Pros: worked as much as i wanted
Cons: company was bought and sold 3 times in 12 years
I'm a self starter and have a lot of heart, passion and loyalty and was rewarded for those traits. I was a top producer for the company in collections for 12 years The last 3 years I worked virtually from home and won the Collector of the Year award in 2010. Very proud of that accomplishment.

account executive (Former Employee), Valley View, OhioFebruary 19, 2012
Pros: potential for great compensation
Cons: poor benefits, work life balance, ever changing policies
Transworld is overall a decent place to work. Management and ever changing policies made it a increasingly stressful environment. Compensation potential was ideal and is the reason why most employees deal with questionable business practices from upper management.
