I was afforded the ability to be part of a unique team of individuals that create the building blocks of one of our nation's most vital agencies. I enjoyed the diversity I encountered amongst my co-workers.

The IRS was the one company I have always wanted to work for. I considered it to have been extremely interesting and definately a stable work enviroment. Due to being a large business, they had many company policies that I appreciated. Common curtesy towards your fellow employees was essential. Everyone you passed, they smiled at you and said good morning.

Excellent learning environment. Challenging, but rewarding work.

At the IRS call center you are busy all day. The work is a combination of knowing tax law and handling issues associated with individuals who owe taxes.

Management is under intense pressure to ensure tax law questions are answered accurately and in as little time as possible.

The hardest part of the job was collecting from people who are barely making – more...  a living and have found themselves with tax balances they are unable to pay.

I provided basic income tax return preparation to qualified individuals in local communities using “Tax Wise” software.

As a mail clerk sorting, copying, stamping and so forth had been the easiest job ever. Great hours, Great Pay it truly is a good place to work.

Help coustomers with there tax needs get all the kinks out.

The I.R.S. is a wonderful place to work. There's always a lot of work to do and it's a pleasant environment. I really enjoyed working there.

Helped process incoming mail also return mail. Organized forms by codes.

A typical day involves assiting customers who call in regarding their accounts.

Investigated violations of the US Code including Titles 18, 26, and 31. Great formal and on the job training. Highly professional co-workers. Spent 10 satisfying years as a special agent and 13 years as a supervisory criminal investigator. Received 10 awards during my career with the IRS.

Even though I work on my own, I was working to help build numbers for the unit. I was able to advance easily and was able to learn alot in a short period of time.

While it was a seasonal position, it felt more like a factory assembly line than a friendly work environment. Whistles blew when it was break time and lunch and when it was time to leave. Not an enviornment that I would thrive in.

Helping the community by using my knowledge as an Accounting Student was very satisfying. In return, people appreciated our effort a lot.

A typical day was to enter information from 1040 from onto datebase. What I learned was to stay focused on my input with few or no mistakes. Working with co-workers was easy do to the fact it was very little interaction with others. The hardest part was the fast pace of entering the information. I enjoyed the hours.

Answering tax payer questions, while learning about several tax law topics. Great management team. Enjoyed knowing that everyday would be a different day. Satisfaction with helping consumers with their tax issues.

fast-paced, excellent customer service (internal/external), fun atmosphere.

I loved my job. However my Mother became terminally ill and I had to have time off to care for her. Too much red tape in a timely manner to accomplish that. Forced to resign.
