About Tri-County Mental Health Services
Gambling Counseling: Tri-County Mental Health provides compulsive gambling counseling to residents of Northwest Missouri (regardless of county). This service is provided at no cost to the consumer. Adult Case Management: Case managers assist people served by Tri-County in the coordination of community resources by acting as consumer advocates. consumers are assisted in obtaining support services related to housing, legal issues, transportation, and employment. consumers are eligible for this service based on diagnosis, disability, and duration of symptoms. Two levels of case management services are available: weekly face-to-face support and a less intensive monthly linking and monitoring. Day Program: A variety of social, recreational, and educational activities specific to the needs of the Seriously Mentally Ill adults are offered. Day Program services are conducted five days a week at four different locations, including our main office, North Kansas City, Excelsior Springs and the new Lebedun Center. Consumer-Run Drop-In Center: The Northland Drop-In Center was formed in November 1995. Run by staff who are themselves mental health consumers, the purpose of the drop-in center is to provide socialization and activities for adults with mental illnesses who live in Clay, Platte and Ray Counties. The drop-in center is not a treatment program. It consists of evening and week-end hours to build social relationships outside of treatment setting. Employment Services: In coordination with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, consumers receive intensive support in their efforts to return to the work force. Services may include a vocational evaluation, job clubs, job site assessments, job development, job coaching, and follow along. Children's Case Management: Case managers work with children and their families to assist with coordination of services, monitoring, and skill building. To refer a current consumer, contact our Child and Youth Services Department at ext. 120.
Children's Intensive Family-Based Services: This program is designed to help children/families who are experiencing an acute psychiatric condition in order to reduce the likelihood of an out-of-home placement. Trained counselors provide in-home individual and family therapy, case management, and 24 hour crisis availability. To refer a current consumer, contact our Child and Youth Services Department at ext. 120.
Children's Day Treatment: Day Treatment is an intensive, structured program for youth ages 6-17 who are classified as having a serious emotional disturbance or are experiencing an acute psychiatric condition. Day Treatment provides therapeutic recreational and social skills building activities with a strong therapeutic emphasis on rehabilitation. Older Adult Services: Providing outreach, community education, care coordination, intakes and referrals for all Tri-County services (in-home options available). Services for 60+ folks. Contact: Sally Kneibert, MSW, LCSW - Older Adult Care Coordinatior, 816-468-0400 ext. 153.
